Regis le Bris - confirmed

I do disagree we are buying young players to sell. Its more of case of buying young players to make better, if they outgrow the club or the club outgrows them, we will sell.

I think this is shown by us not selling anyone yet. Clarke going this season is an example of selling when they outgrow, if we were developing players to sell he would have been gone by now.
An intelligent take on the club…. There are so many throwaway statements saying we are a selling club when to date we have sold no one of note…. And we have on our books a number of players attracting solid Premiership interest,

Listening now, it's the most negative out the podcasts on the appointment. A bit conspiratorial for me, on why we have appointed him and managers turning us down.

Mention of the French players having all the same agent, which I think isn't anything.

The impartial journalist is good thought, provides good reasons to feel positive!
Haven’t listened to this one yet, but have heard the RR, WTF and Sensible Sunderland reactions.

One lad on Sensible Sunderland (other host provided good balance tbf) and, guessing based on your post, the a WMS lads are already convinced of a certain narrative and anything the club does is viewed as more evidence that they are correct.

Again proving my point. They get a neutral French journalist on who's got no axe to grind, and it's dismissed as being negative.
I think it's because they're constantly negative and have been acting a bit silly when that's put to them.
It used to be a great listen with fair criticism and praise now it's just an absolute chore. Well not anymore as I've long stopped listening

Sounds riveting. Pass the ball about around the back for a bit and then hoof it upfield. Seems suspiciously like Dodds ball to me.
Well at least it would be continuity ;)
.For me, his senior coaching career is too short to draw any kind of firm conclusions over how he might fair here.

Clean slates all 'round and lets just see how he gets on. Hopefully we're pleasantly surprised.
Has to be this really. He certainly seems a “thinker”, just hope he can get that translated onto the pitch

Fingers crossed

I wouldn't go that far, I think it's one of the better WMS, the guest is good.

It does all seem a bit Beale-but-in-French to me.
But fingers crossed I'm wrong.
Certainly a bilingual coach is something we probably need.

And yep. After the last 6 months can't see Clarke being sold. We'd get way under his value. January after some good months is more likely.
Think Clarke is certainly going.

Second least attempted long balls in Ligue 1 behind PSG, no hoofing involved.

They tended to be happy to cede possession , his philosophy is very different from Poyet's. The playing around with it deep isn't about just maintaining possession for possessions sake, it's about trying to draw the press then attempting to play through it and attacking quickly from there - not slow intricate build up.

I do wonder how that will translate here against all the teams that come up to SoL content just to sit in.
Dont see how thats any different from poyet tbh!

It's funny you say that when there's people on this thread saying we're going to be negative without having listened to the podcast they're referring to. It seems you're already convinced of a certain narrative and anything we do say as a podcast is viewed as more evidence that you are correct...

I thought they were fair and actually quite positive on how it sounds like he'll fit with the way we're doing things?

If anything it was the guest was chipping in with a more negative "spin" when he thought they were perhaps a bit carried away?
