Hucknalls Fluffer

Investment banks don't give money to hedge funds. That would be a conflict of interest.
This might get a little tedious and I’ll therefore try to keep it simple.
They do.

I had a chat with a client last Autumn looking at using a fund of funds with UBS (Investment bank) investing into hedge funds. It’s pretty clear to me that you are tossing out jargon without any clue what you’re on about.
You also mentioned £10bn exposure of councils to hedge funds, I’d like to see what the context is (assuming it’s not made up by someone at the other end of this message) Is this one Council investing a huge chunk of budget into a hedge fund or total exposure amongst all UK councils which as a % of holdings will be minimal. The firm I work for have £7bn under management and we are considered a fairly small outfit!
Finally, you’re quoting back to me what an alternative is...... I know, that’s why I mentioned it in the post. I could train a parrot to throw out the buzzwords, but I couldn’t train it to write the reports.
