Redditors gave Wall Street traders an absolute pasting

To be honest mate, you've not painted a very good defence of your position on this; your constant responses are either:
  • telling someone they don't know what they're talking about (without providing any explanation)
  • indicating that the relevant authorities will come down like a ton of bricks on the redditors
  • indicating that this is illegal
  • throwing out questions/examples
All just deflection and absolutely nothing concrete to indicate you're doing anything other than closing ranks with your mates.

FWIW, I think this will end in tears and I woudn't touch it with a barge poll. Hopefully though, something good might come out of this.
I've not got any skin in this game at all. Every time I try to argue back I get piled into by people with no knowledge on the matter telling me I'm part of the shadowy hand.

Manipulating the price of securities is very much against the rules. I don't give a fig if any hedge fund blows up. In fsct we usually make money out of buying their shit at discounted rates.

Every time there's a finance thread it's the same story.

I work as a trader at a a bank. I know how the system works and I most definitely know the rules. If I don't follow them I get sacked and possibly go to prison.
Our Price ceased trading in 2004 so not recently and HMV don't sell physical versions of video games so that would have been a wasted journey.
How much is our price stock worth now?

you don't get piled into for trying to argue back
you get piled into for the conceited non sequitors you insist on posting rather than actually entering into proper discourse

By public pension funds do you mean DB, as in public sector ’civil service type schemes’ or DC schemes? Either way the absolute that you’re portraying is incorrect.

I’ll take defined contribution schemes as I think that’s what your alluding to, very few portfolios over the thousands I’ve advised clients on have exposure to hedge funds. If any of the funds ever have holdings in alternatives it’s typically a tiny percentage. I think the hedge funds did far more damage to the layman than any reddit group via shorting banking shares during 2008 (these type of shares absolutely formed part of the everymans pension fund).
Alternative investments include hedge funds. Last year local councils had over 10bn exposure to hedge funds. If you think hedge funds caused so much damage in 08 you need to do more research. It as a failure by banks and insurers.

Anyone know how long Revolut usually takes to complete an order.

Yes, this is literally the first time I've ever bought shares.

and the Hedge Funds are getting bailed out and helped again here aren't they?

Well exactly case in point. Company that failed to adapt to new media now worth zero. And retail investors are paying whatever price it is here.

I was posing a genuine question which was answered later by someone who knows about it, so you may refer to that post

the case in point was your non sequitur rather then just explaining what you were getting at, which you have shown yourself capable of in this post, so just stop being a bellend eh la?

So how much is Tesla worth? The valuation seems totally ludicrous based upon its stock price and the fact that, take away the carbon credits it gets, and which are running out, it does not make a profit. yet anyone trying to short that monster over the past year has been obliterated.

Worth is what people are willing to pay. How much is my sunderland cup final program worth for example.

Anyhow, back to the silver miners. Been a great day, but time to take some profits before JP Morgan steps in.

They‘ve received cash injections from their backers, which are likely to be investment houses, investment banks and wealthy private clients. It’s not a bail out by governments given that these firms don’t threaten liquidity of the world markets.
Investment banks don't give money to hedge funds. That would be a conflict of interest.

I'm all keto, well I am now I have spent the weekend in bed wanking and eating biscuits... still can appreciate a good pie if only intellectually
For some reason all I could think of is the crumbs and that Friends episode he's screaming "it's formed a paste"

Ah, its only money

Now you've got an account if any of my investments fall of a cliff edge I'm suspecting you've hoyed some money in

Mind, the folds on WSB (reddit) are saying this is the hedge funds trying to rattle the market to make people cash in their profits. They're recommending every buys the dips.

*not financial advice!

Believe it or not, I actually made a 20% profit on crypto in the end.
