Honestly? Not a chance (aware this will probably bite me on the arse ). We were in the exact same situation last season and ended up finishing 10th and have had a horrendous fixture list so far. I think its incredibly short sighted to have us favourites to go down if I'm honest although of course there's a risk it could happen.

You're 4th favourites to go down at the bookies. Huddersfield and Cardiff are odds on (as expected) and after that it's just Burnley, who had a tremendous win yesterday, are now out of Europe and have a good, committed young manager.

If Chelsea were going for the league or Champions League last season on the final day instead of a dead game with a manager the players didn't like, then you'd have probably finished a few places lower. Just about all the other clubs have strengthened significantly, you seem weaker. You've got a manager who won't be there next season and the players will know this and unlike most seasons, you've got a newly promoted club who are expected to finish in the top half and another well safe - I'd be pretty concerned.

Do you genuinely believe we'll get relegated this season? Honest question.

Many people, on here, refused to say they believed they'd be relegated the last time they went down.

"Benitez has been appointed, that's them safe,"

They also said it when Shearer took them down.

Lots thought Carver would take the club down but he actually kept them up!

There's nothing to suggest they won't be in a relegation battle this season as they were until the final third of last season.

I'd make you favourites along with Cardiff and Huddersfield. Those 2 look very likely but not sure who you'd finish above after that.
I think it's between the mags and Brighton for the last available spot, Hughton or Rafa? I know who I would have but the mags probably have the better squad, not much in it mind...

Always makes me chuckle that they vilified Big Sam for playing far more attractive football than what’s being served up there now. Fickle as fuck man

I watched a recording of the Palace game, if Cardiff and Huddersfield weren't bankers to go down they'd be one of my favourites. They simply cannot score enough goals. Benitez made no effort to win the game. Lose to a rejuvenated Leicester and Man Utd and it might be interesting

The fans were awful, abusing Ashley and PVA was the sum total of there support

They had a cup final the week after it was a gift of 3pts for them yet they're stupid enough to think differently

That doesn't surprise me given we are in the relegation zone at present. But bookies odds change on a weekly basis and I'd expect that to lengthen after a couple of wins. And fair point on Chelsea - 10th was flattering and a true reflection probably would have been 13th/14th. But regardless of that the gap to 18th was hugely comfortable in the end and I'd expect 13th/14th to be the same this season. While agreed that Rafa won't be here next season, the performances on the pitch aren't showing that at present. We remain organised and difficult to score past which is fundamental for any team hoping to stay up - we just lack much creativity up top. You'd hope however that with Rondon getting back to full fitness and Shelvey back from injury that that will improve. But it's early days and there's obviously a concern, I just think making us (one of the) favorites for relegation at this stage is pretty short sighted given what Benitez did last season.

Do you stand with us? If Rafa goes mid-season or at the end of the season will you go as well? Whether you’re a season ticket holder or go to matches when you can, we want to hear from you. Our DMs are open.

Replying to and
I'm gone as soon as Rafa is. There is no way this situation is improving any time soon. The FCB doesn't realise we have a world class manager and the fan base to match. I can't justify paying £40 a month for only to be taken advantage of.

Still coming out with the world class manager shit lol

You do realise that you picked up 9 points last season from the same teams you played from this seasons horrendous start, Arsenal H, Chelsea H and WBA (for Cardiff A).

That means you’re already 8 points down on last season, good luck.
