That's the bit 'ah divvent understand'. They harp on about Rafa winning Champions League 13 year ago. As if that negates how shite he is for them at the moment.

Howard Wilkinson was the last Englishman to win English top flight, didn't stop him being utterly useless as our manager.

Out of their recent managers imo Rafa is behind BSA and Hughton and they couldn't wait to get shot of both, a few more weeks in the bottom three and they will turn on him i reckon, it's not like they are playing well and losing they are just poor, eventually reality will dawn on them that it isn't all Fat Mike's fault, they have to realise it would be stupid of the owner to give a shitload of money to someone who won't be there next season, won't they?

The way they toss themselves over Benitez is laughable. All because he fluked a Champions League win with Liverpool. Howard Wilkinson won the league with Leeds a decade before he took us over. How well did that go for us?
 
He won’t do nearly as well as Pardew did, not even close despite spending more money than him as well.

The obsession with him is pitiful really.
 
Somehow Rafa won the Champions League which is no mean feat and this makes him worthy even though the Mags are nothing but relegation fodder these days.
 
Small club syndrome. They claim to be huge but they’re in awe of him cos he managed Real Madrid for 5 minutes and won the Champions League over 10 years ago. Some of them are slowly waking up to how overrated he is. Not bad, just overrated.

It's become rafa United ... the cult club where it's rafa über alles.. and he can do no wrong. Somewhere long ago the mags lost sense of who they are. A regional unfashionable club who can't compete with the top 6.
