So why the smilie and sarcy "took longer than I thought" despite you mentioning it first? I had no intention of bringing it up until you did as we were discussing players he'd got best out of.

Because I thought it would come from another poster earlier? It’s not that hard to understand.

Mr Chuckles, you were the one who started a thread about our neighbours. You seem to be the one obsessed by them.

When the debate turned to a comparison between Allardyce and Bentitez I merely said I did not like Sam as a person and Benitez seemed a good guy.

It is ok to respect someone who represents the opposition.

You seem very angry with life.

So it wasn't directed specifically at me then? Given you quoted me it's easy to see why I thought that. It's not that hard to understand.

So summarising this thread Jamie carragher who worked with Benitez for a few seasons and knows him better than anyone on here said that his style of football is getting players behind the ball playing it long hoping to get goals from set plays and playing on the counter.

Which is how big Sam likes to play and there's nowt wrong with that.

But the resident mags on here are throwing a paddy because rafa has a funny sounding surname so it's not the same :lol::lol::lol:

Nicely summed up. Sima is now off on one and rambling on about context, could go on into early hours this one so I'll bow out and leave him to it.

Whether it comes from you or another poster, the same thing gets thrown out regularly when Benitez is under discussion.

Which is why I parodied it earlier.

I would agree that a Benitez team would never get the tag 'the entertainers' however he gets results and has shown that he instinctively knows how to get the best out of his respective teams.

Defensively minded perhaps- but not long ball.

I don't think the comparison between Benitez and Allardyce holds much water - Benitez has managed at a much higher level than Allardyce and has been relatively much more successful.

Allardyce has shown that he has the knack of getting clubs out of trouble. - But he's rarely managed a team at the top end of the table.

He loves to Google a few phrases and words and hoy them on here when he knows he's wrong and knows he is making himself look like a f***ing knacker

I think it's easier to manage a team at the top end of the table when you have the budget for that .
But Benitez is finding out this season how difficult it is to manage a team when you have a modest budget is he not

CHRIST ALMIGHTY FOR ALL THE MAGS ON HERE I'M NOT PUTTING BENITEZ IN THE SAME BRACKET AS BIG SAM IN THE SENSE OF TROPHIES WON.
I'M JUST QOUTING JAMIE CARRAGHER WHO KNOWS BENITEZ MORE THAN ANY ONE ON HERE.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH I THINK BENITEZ IS A GOOD MANAGER BUT HIS PHILOSOPHY ON FOOTBALL ISN'T THAT DIFFERENT TO SAM

IT'S JUST SAM HAS NEVER HAD THAT CALIBRE OF PLAYER BENITEZ HAS HAD OVER THE YEARS AND IF HE HAD I THINK HE WOULD HAVE WON A TROPHY OR 2
So what are you saying? ;)

I think he's doing rather well with the limited squad he has at his disposal.
