Rafa. He's still not happy

I don't necessarily disagree with that. I just never understand the hate for him. I'd take the way he's ran them over the way Short has gone right now.

Maybe it's the way he comes across as big time charlie and the stories of how he has treat his workers at Sports Direct clouds my judgement of him as a football owner.

He definitely strikes me (could be wrong) as the type of bloke who promised Rafa money to get him to stay, knowing full well he wasnt going to deliver.

The expectation of the average football fan is instant success. It's ludicrous. Unless you have millions and millions to throw at a team statistically it is not going to happen, even with the money. He ran Everton very well for years. He could have done the same for you. Instead he'll probably go and sit on a sunny beach for the rest of his life on the payoff. I don't have any sympathy for him. He knows what a fickle lot his customer base is. It must be immensely frustrating to work in an industry that requires time, luck and money to succeed. He had none of them

I agree but in Moyes case he failed at every single aspect of his job. From team morale (all the players hated him), to training methods causing injuries, to signings, team selection, tactics and not threatening to slap journalists he was appalling. I'd go as far as saying he was worse than McClaren for yous. The only positive I saw from his tenure was initial handling of the Kone carry on but in the end he fucked that up as well

Well this is all very jolly.

I haven't been on here for a long while, mostly as I stopped going last year after witnessing the early signs of surrender under the atmosphere hoover, and having always thought it was better to be going to the matches before offering a view. ( I was there on Saturday so I have allowed mesell a remark or two!)

But all this stuff about that lot comes down, as it usually does to this: We are shite, now and at most other times and by and large we all know and acknowledge this. They are shite, now and at most other times, ( notwithstanding that they have visited loftier peaks in recent memory) and by and large they struggle to assimilate this truth.

The waiter is playing the political game he has always played. He probably assumed he would extract the vast sums spent last year in fees and wages to get them up and would then , in triumph, be able to squeeze £100m or so from the banker. But this is a different banker. One who will not be bullied into vast spending, nor manouvered into sacking a manager.

Benitez is a good manager, probably like Moyes, past his peak, but should be good enough to put a decent fist of competing in that league with the squad he has. Other, " lesser " managers have done so with smaller squads of less gifted players. Time for the manager to do his work in quiet instead of through the press.

As, for us, Saturday confirms what I had thought. That Grayson has been brought here to keep us up. Others have hurtled on downwards and it could happen here. Think he'll do that much mesell.

I'm afraid I don't follow you lot as much as you lot follow us. I heard he left, I assumed he got the sack. He'll have to pay for his beach life from his wages.
So you're just making shit up?

I'm afraid you seem to follow us quite closely and have spent your Sunday night getting a fatty on over Rafo.

It's not the instant success, it was the lack of confidence he gave his players, his constant twisting and above all his lack of enthusiasm and just plain miserable.

In any work place nobody wants to bust a gut for a individual with them skills, he was shocking for us.

No son, it's about thinking something has happened and making an assumption. I'm quite happy to hold my hand up when I get something wrong.

So you're admitting you're a clueless, obsessed knacker then young'un?

Good lad, it seems that being thick isn't an act.

Yes about Grayson, we'll be just fine this season but sadly I don't think we'll make the playoffs.
About Benitez. Again you are spot on.
There is nowhere for him to hide. A good manager would keep a self appointed squad up. A poor one would fail at that basic task.
Time, as always, will tell.
