So you agree Benitez is as inept as Moyes? Penny starting to drop
Far from it. You don't have to be a professional football manager to guage whether a side is going to struggle or not with the playing staff available.

Moyes looked at your squad and concluded, correctly, that they weren't good enough. Not a massive reach given where you had finished for the last n seasons.

Like typical supporters you reject the opinion you don't want to hear and then call for his head at the end of the season.

Exactly spot on, but think that's more down to Ashley not realising the purse strings, rather than Rafa.

It's clear they team is shit you know it, Rafa knows it, but Ashley will not spend anything, so when the shit does hit the fan for them, Ashley is more to blame IMO.

Spent 50 million in the championship on a load of shite they now can't get off the books to be able to replace them, and has now spent about 200 million in the last 3 years and has a worse squad now than he did before that spending.

How only Ashley is accountable for that is beyond me

He obviously had in mind spending at least another 50 million this summer and he'd want that ever year to stay on, the mags can't generate that sort of income so it's going to end in tears even if they stay up, unless they get a wealthy owner who doesn't mind losing money

I reckon Ashley promised him something in the region of that though, and has now backed down.

Ashley comes across as a wanker of a bloke IMO.

I no fan of Rafa, but Ashley is scum the way he treats his workers at his company sums the man up,

Squad was shite and Moyes was shite. Seems like the same thing with yous tbf

I assume that's a piss take, but just in case it's not.

What Moyes did wrong is make sure every players fragile confidence got even worse before the season had started.

First rule of management in anything don't tell your staff they not good enough, they will believe it.

Moyes told all his players they were not good enough that's what he did wrong.
Oh do piss off. He saw what a beer guzzling bunch of mercenary fuckers they were in the main. He wanted half of them out to be replaced with better quality professionals. His announcement was for Short and not the fans. Short went deaf. You went down. Fragile my arse.

This.

The mags will simply not accept that there has been funds available. It's not Ashley's fault it's been spent on shite.

Can't believe how much Rafa is still getting honoured. Someone on twitter said the only positive today was Rafa.

3 wins in 12 premier league games as their manager. 2 of them wins against Swansea and Palace. The 3rd against a Spurs team asleep on the beach.

Not his fault though. Only positive they currently have :lol:

Struggling tonight young'un, maybe put down the device you're furiously thrashing about on, go for a wank, a brew and relax.

The squad was already poor, we needed a manager to build their confidence up and to believe in themselves, what we got was a manager telling a already limited squad how poor they were, we were doomed from that moment onwards.

Horrendous statement by Moyes that was.

What that shit that they won the league!!!

He bought a keeper that he won't play and 3 right backs. They won the league but are paying for it massively now

He basically gambled using funds from promotion to pay for last seasons buys, in he hope he could shift them and replace them with better this season. Hardly any have moved as the increased terms they were given to sign last year have increased again on promotion and no one is willing to match them. He's fucked them over and is now throwing a fit because Ashley wants them out the door first.

6 away games in Prem as manager of Newcastle, hasn't won any of them. Including defeats to a Norwich side who were relegated a Huddersfield side who came up via the play offs and a 0 0 draw against a woeful Villa side.

And yet he is immune from any criticism, the whole thing's bizarre.

Of course I see your point to a certain extent because he got players of good championship level to get them out of the league, and I agree long term thinking went out of the window.

That's because getting to the premiership now is the golden chalice and the priority above all else.

Ashley can't have it both ways, promotion and long term plans don't go hand in hand these days, Rafa got them out of a very difficult league at his first attempt, granted he spent a lot of money.he now needs to back him or they will be back in the championship,
