did that when i was a kidUsed to be a public helicopter from Heathrow to Gatwick but it stopped many years ago.

This is my issue with the bloody things. Single point of failure in both the blade and engine. No chance you would get me in one.In my head if a plane's engine goes there's usually another one to keep the plane going, and if they both go the wings can probably do some kind of landing (if they can't im happy for you not to point that out ). But if a choppers engine goes its goodnight Vienna. Nah, id be a nervous wreck if I went up on one!
Just me trying to beat the roadworks mate, I only live 12 miles away but I'm not taking any chances to make the kick off.
They can auto rotate and land safely -better chance than a plane if it’s engine failure. This is my issue with the bloody things. Single point of failure in both the blade and engine. No chance you would get me in one.
That's microlights, when I did lessons my instructor said flying these is as easy as riding a motorbike.Motorbikes of the sky as I've heard them described.
What’s it like flying an Apache attack helicopterDifferent to flying fixed wing…qualified on both but I actually enjoy the agility of helos more.

I failed the selection for London air ambulance and a few weeks later the Kent one flew into overhead lines. I was kind of glad in hindsight I didn’t get on and never tried again as it put me off for goodMathew harding as well. Proper bad things choppers like.

Felling bypass and A1 not to his liking!
Crikey. Close call that mate. And not surprised it put you off. I bet they're amazing to travel in, but just doesn't feel like a natural method of travel for me!I failed the selection for London air ambulance and a few weeks later the Kent one flew into overhead lines.
