He stands out like a sore thumb compared to most of the squad as to fitness, work ethic, physique, determination, team spirit, etc..

I cannot fathom why he of all our players should have been given a 3 year deal given his previous record.

It would be miraculous if he ever contributes to this team.
 
Don't regard him as a bad signing in the same way Connelly wasn't, in that there is little risk, plenty of reward if it comes off. The speed at which Connelly was purged and the discarding of Ba tells me that Regis has no time for dead weight.

For it to get out that he was being disciplined probably was leaked on purpose to give him a final chance, and I don't think he will be tolerated if he doesn't step up. We've already seen how players like le fee trust him implicitly, and while clearly a disciplinarian, the way AA was brought in after working hard backs that up, even if he was ultimately moved on, it felt like a respect to get him game time rather than a blowoff.

Fat Yan will either work out or he won't. But we have plenty of talent coming through that makes it matterless.

Regis is polite and courteous in interviews etc, while simultaneously putting out a "do not mess" vibe. I can imagine he's the same with players. Step out of line and you'll meet Mr Nasty.
 
Really surprised we took him on such a long deal. Whoever signed that deal off must be very quiet around the office.

You'd think he'd be making some serious attempts to get his career on track, and impress after been given a chance, but reading stuff like this and how long he goes missing and it's back to the days of Rodwell.

Just bite the bullet and terminate his contract. Nobody is going to give us what the club will eventually fork out on him over 3 years. Sends a bigger message out to any of our younger lads with a bit of a chip on their shoulders themselves that lack of professionalism won't be tolerated.
