I'm pretty torn on this one. I don't think there's anything wrong with having some politics discussion on the SMB but I do find it tiresome when often the same threads appear and the same few opinionated posters, who obviously won't have their opinions changed by each other, keep arguing on every thread.

Things are calming down now so don't see the need.
Politics enriches the SMB, there can be some good threads. But if people want a "political" read, then having all the threads in one place is handy, and people who aren't interested don't have to look at any of them.
