Pickford

It’s absolutely embarrassing on the part of Newcastle fans
It’s clear that Pickford would of had a few drinks but he’s not the instigator -
Why can’t they just let him enjoy his day and leave him alone to have a good time - pathetic
The lad that filmed it and calling him “Butterfingers” it’s a joke
He’s in his own town as well.
But shouting in someone’s face on a plane is classy?

Why can’t sunderland fans just let Shearer enjoy his day due to the result and let him travel home in peace?

Haven't you heard? He's a 'millionaire footballer' so isn't entitled to such comforts.

why? its all over the main stream media

fair enough mods delete if its going to cause unneccessary bother

Because they may assume, given it happened in Sunderland and the content of this board isn't produced by trained journalists in collaboration with highly paid mainstream media lawyers, that they can reasonably expect some chump to come on here and give details that might prejudice a police investigation.

So someone gets called a name and he reacts and that's fine.Next time someone calls me on here you're getting whacked.

Sad state of affairs this happening in his own town... mags should have took & hiding & shocking that was filmed/uploaded to FB.

This ....

And any Sunderland selling this to the media should be ashamed.

The lad is out watching his home town team who he supports and used to play for in a cup final and he’s getting abuse from some knacker.

Agree he shouldn’t be getting into fights, but you’d think he’d be alright at home with his mates having a few drinks.

Some proper bell ends about

Nowt worse than the whole “I know what happened, you’re all wrong, but I’m saying nowt.”. You’re the third person to do it on this thread.

Well considering my original thread explaining everythnig got pulled and I got banned for my troubles, sorry but no I'm not willing to expand on the matter any more

The bloke is thick as fuck mind, look at the way he went on at SJP the other month when he ended up looking like a complete clown, now he cant even go out without looking like a twat.

The mags are utterly obsessed with us.....all season....everywhere

Remember Doncaster away after we won, waiting in the queue in McDonalds next to the ground and some young mags started singing anti Sunderland songs in the McDonalds doorway!

Not a single person was bothered and just continued ordering their food

There were some at the match Sunday.

Overboard like. If you take constant abuse in your job it'd be hard not to react. Yes he shouldnt but he's human.

To be fair to Lee ‘gets drunk and attacks parked cars in Newcastle city centre’ Cattermole, he takes it on the chin.

Absolutely, two public meltdowns in recent weeks is not a good sign. I hope he surrounds himself with people who can get him through it and it doesn’t ruin his career.
Cattermole has had his shit together for years, that bother with the cars was 6 or 7 years ago. This trolling of Sunderland players both ex and current seems obsessional to me

That did raise a laugh, well played.

This culture of filming people to get a reaction for 10 minutes of social media fame is absolutely depressing.

You’re right mate.
It’s a non event but due to everybody being a ready mate journalist, it’s there for the world to see.
Very sad.

Cattermole Handles the stick well, as an adult in the public eye so he should.
Is singing at Shearer on a plane obsessional also ?

Isn't something I'd condone or do, but I can't speak for everyone, and as I stated earlier, no one abused Shearers missus or bairn which reportedly happened with Pickford

‘Reportedly’ with Pickford yet you know exactly what was said to Shearer ?

There’s no difference here other than you’re taking offence when it happens to your own player. Your defending the lads who called Shearer but don’t like somebody calling Pickford.
Either you think both cases are obsessional or you think both cases are a bit of ribbing.

First incident was in Beggars Bridge in Boldon, I can think of better bars for England's goalie to be drinking in tbh.

You're also going to get a mixture of supporters in there as well, which isn't very clever considering his recent antics at SJP with Everton

Doesn't seem the brightest kid mind.

Aye it's grim. See also rivalry all of a sudden being described as 'obsession' (on both sides) was never like that years ago. You'd take the piss out of the mags you knew, they took the piss back. Sometimes it went too far, but never described as being obsessed. I honestly believe the absolute desperation for one upmanship or the moral high ground has taken away some enjoyment of supporting the club for some people.

Footballers have been acting like knobs and also on the receiving end of people acting like knobs since I started going out drinking. Only difference is, everyone has the facility to record and post incidents to the world within seconds now.

It's probably because due to the way football has formed itself with the hugely rich and the rest, fans of both clubs know we'll do nothing of note in the foreseeable and this is all we have.

100% fully agree with both statements.
