Petrol - Good news - price is going down



The saudis cut production a few months ago to drive up the price
If it were as simple as that, surely the highest ever unleaded price in the UK would match the time that the Brent Crude price was highest? July 2008: Brent Crude $148 a barrel. UK unleaded at the same time was just under £1.20.

The market price at the pump is influenced by a huge range of factors beyond just the market price of Brent Crude. E.g. in particular future options

Filled up at Morrisons in Rotherham today, £1.37 a litre. Drove a few miles down the road and noticed it was £1.68 at Tibshelf services! 31p a litre difference is a canny wack like.

Asda have taken over the old Kenny Martin’s place in Washington that’s been the Coop for a few years… possibly related, but savacentre have reduced their price to 1p less than them at £1.38
 
Sainsburys over North Hylton way is £1.38 whereas Sainsburys at Silky is £1.40. Daft really

It's normally the other way round. Silky is generally a penny cheaper.
It's probably something to do with how much & when they get the new stock of petrol delivered.
