People who aren't renewing

ive had a season ticket since the 70's, apart from a couple of seasons where I couldn't afford it, still got to some home games, and even went in for the last 15 at times if it was biggish game...walked in as fans walked out, bloody daft.
but its where your football team more or less has you by the knackers, the feeling of disloyalty that a supporter gets.
Its totally unwarranted these days, we have a chairman who thinks £400 is loose change, and its despite him that I go, not because of him.
Our early bird went out in bloody December, I was fuming , phoned the lad "Thats it...I'm picking me matches, bloody ridiculous paying for next season before this seasons halfway through, Christmas coming etc etc"
i renewed the following week...
(yea i know)
I know some lads that said "Balls to it" as soon as Chansiri raised the ante, they go and watch non league now,
Once that happens, it takes some dragging back.
a season ticket would cost me £100 less at Bramall lane, United tbf look after their fans, that in the league above, going for the Prem
but your football club knows, and it plays on your loyalty
This next couple of years will be the acid test for most clubs, cost of living, petrol, gas, electric
will they give owt back?
I bloody doubt it
I'll say
"Thats me done"...again
Then buy the f.ooker the week after

I'll be glad when Ive had enough tbh

Not renewing. A number of reasons why. I travel a fair way to watch when shifts allow and with the fuel costs increasing that is a factor. Like many I’m sure you’re looking at what You get back for my time and money and sadly this season has been one of worst. The matchday for me has become different and you can feel the bitterness rising around the fan base which is understandable. The ownership issue didn’t even suprise me to be honest.

In the coming year it won’t be the only expense I will be cutting, tv license gone, gym membership gone,

Not under Cowie, wasn't into football a that age. My first games were under Murray when Buxton was manager and didn't really know the situation as I was only about 14 but experienced the red card waving against the board. Not long after buxton was sacked and reid was appointed. From then on under Murray/Reid I saw some of the best football with Phillips and Quinn and to this day I realise how good it was then. Yeah there were a few awful seasons but we always bounced back. Under Short good and bad times. Seen us play at a major cup final. He ploughed money into Sunderland. Can't fault him there. It was off the pitch which where it went wrong. There current owners are the worst since supporting the lads hands down. I sadly include Kyril but not to the level of Donald, Methven and Sartori. All three have screwed this club up big time. Kyril has a least apologised. The others couldn't give one.
What's Kyril done wrong?

I’ve moved from the East Stand to the South Stand as it was £100 cheaper. I also wanted to have a change in match day experience.

It’s scandalous charging £435 for L1 (which is discounted for those renewing early), so for those buying new season cards will be paying near to £500 to sit in the East Stand.

What has he actually done since coming here? That would be a more appropriate question.

Good point, i can't think of much.

Just bought my first ever season ticket (for me and my boy) as my son is really keen this year and I don’t want to spoil that - we’ll be in the family stand and, to be fair, I’m looking forward to it and to supporting the lads on the pitch - I don’t want to get in to some bad tempered debate or get shot down if at all possible - but that’s what I’ll pay my money for, to watch football (good or bad), as I’m a Sunderland fan and pleased that my boy is too and I want to encourage that. I’m trying to worry less about the off field nonsense as I find it actually ruins the experience of being a fan a bit too much.

Was thinking of binning it off but it auto renews and I can't be arsed to challenge it. The apathy at this football club runs from the top to simply buying tickets

As I said earlier £235 for over 65 was fair enough, at £435 for L1 would be a non starter.

My opinion is the exact opposite of yours. However, I hope you and your lad have a cracking time, hopefully lovely memories as well. Take care mate👍

There was a supporters meeting with our Chairman several years ago, when he spat the dummy out and ranted
"Your ticket money makes no difference whatsoever"
Hence the next question
"Why the f.ook do you charge us then"?

Followed by a sorta silence

This, but being able to afford it will be a concern for many sadly.
It will, and where do you draw the line?
I, like many football fans, feel it a sort of "Right of passage" to support my football team, it should always be affordable.
Chairmen of whatever club are quick to praise "Their" supporters, whitter on of loyalty, patience and steadfastness etc, then price a fair few out of doing what they are praising them for doing.
I look around hillsborough, 15000 empty sodding seats!!
come the "Big games" like promotion from this league a few years ago, and theres 40'000 in....
Still some were moaning at other folk for walkin' up the Kop, staring at the ticket, saying "Is this row so and so"?
as though they were bloody lepers or something, or some sort of retutrning traitor, bloody ludicrous
someone sits next to me and hasn't been to Hillsborough for 10 years, I'll say
"Welcome back mate"
You don't know their circumstances, you dunno the bills that roll through their sodding letter box every month..His wife might be a Blade, He might have been out of work
But there some season ticket holders sit, smirking that theres only 15k in and enjoying the leg room if not the atmosphere, wondering why its quiet and we are losing to whoeverthefook
Self defeating nonsense

Ok, after lots of debate I've renewed 3 of the 4. 2 are 40 quid kids ones, The 17 year old has dropped out as he's found his nob so can't blame him. I hate giving these 4 shitey owners anything and they'll get no food, drinks or club shop spends again.
