His distribution is awful. It’s gone from walloping it out for throws to under hitting it and putting us in trouble. His feet are so slow it just hasn’t improved at all in his time in the first team. Makes good solid saves without being spectacular and I quite like that.

If you havent got it, then you havent got it marra, no matter how much coaching you receive. If it was just a case of coaching, then every 100M sprinter would become a pro footballer playing on the wing or up front
 
Most of the goals we have conceded have been the result of opponents creating chaos in and around the six yard box when the ball has been played into that area. Its been begging for someone to take control and either clear the ball or claim it. In those situations Patto seems to prefer to stay on his line. I would prefer him to claim the ball and skittle anyone that gets in the way including sunlun players.
 
I personally think he’s fine. Good solid keeper. Kicking isn’t great but not that brothered. It’s what he does with his hands that count
 
He's a bloody good keeper. Is still a young lad in goalkeeping g terms and for everyone saying we should sell as he won't be prem standard or we won't get promoted with him, notice how the teams linked with him are either playing in the prem or at the top end of the championship going for the top 2 this season?

Distribution isn't great I agree but he is a good keeper

This. The single advantage that he has due to his frame, is the weight to barge players out of the way, yet he rarely uses it.

It is apparent that teams are now a lot more proactive at targeting any keeper that leaves his line by blocking him.

He is a decent keeper, madness to say otherwise.

Part of the problem is the hype from a couple of years ago, we expect more now because of this.

He hit the ground running at a million miles per hour and we expect him to keep progressing at that speed, which he isnt, now the next couple of years will tell if he can progress further or if top of the championship is his level, we have seen worse in a Sunderland shirt and seen better.

If we got a large offer, that could add strength to our outfield positions, I would be tempted, as we have Moore who I dont think is as good but I guess would do a job for half a season, as loosing Patterson would be less damaging to the side compared to one of our sellable outfield players.

heard good things about matty young and if Patterson was sold could open the way up for his development into the first team, no idea if he is ready or not.

Also I like Patterson and maybe a move would be best for his career, maybe a move would help him kick on.

Happy if we keep him, wouldnt be crushed if he was sold for good money has to be 10 million plus to make a difference and would only sell if it meant we keep our outfield players and got to strengthen.

I dont think we have seen the best of Patterson yet either mind, still time for him to improve as a young keeper.

Him and Hume are the 2 from the play-off season who haven't really kicked on as much as I expected them to. Both perfectly competent players at this level but not convinced that either of them will ever be good enough to be regular Premier League players.
