Parking near Anfield

Have to go to Liverpool for a funeral tomorrow and managed to wangle a couple of tickets for the mag end tomorrow night (son is a Liverpool fan (I know, I failed...)). Apart from a can of deodorant and a false moustache, I need somewhere to park around the ground. Anyone got any suggestions of safe places to park from past experience?
If your strategy as a Mackem is to sit in the Mags end smelling of deodorant, wearing a fake moustache while your lad is bouncing around after Liverpool get their fifth, I’d think the least of your worries is where to park the car.

Ok ok, wangled wasn’t the right word.

It’s my son’s 18th and he’s a Liverpool fan (I’m as sorry as you are, believe you me). His uncle is a mag season ticket holder and offered to take him to the anfield match. I said I’d take him instead cos (a) I’ve got to go to Liverpool for a funeral, and (b) I fully expect to see the mags get massively humped and if it means I can hear their snivelling from 12” away then all the better.

No self respecting SAFC fan would ever go in the mags end for a game that doesn’t involve us. Makes it a lot worse by being in with their away fans.

I don’t know what sort of response the op was expecting, either naive or a wum.

I know two Liverpool 'fans' in their end tomorrow, they are quite similar clubs (apart from winning stuff) in some ways. Didn't think the richest club in the world would have tickets spare for plastic scousers of course.

I try to answer the thread without getting personal towards the poster. Unless they get personal first then they can fuck off.
However, willingly ’wangling’ a ticket in their end is beyond the pale.
Wangler. 😏
You will need fumagating after sitting with those stinkers

I'd ring the club.
Explain that your son was given the tickets by a relative who won them in a charity auction.

Explain that he's a Liverpool fan, and you anticipate that there will he a lot of bad language and body odour in the away end, and is there any chance you can swap to be somewhere else?

They can only say no.

I did similar at Leeds when I couldn't get in the Sunderland end. They were fine with it

Or if you really want to be a cheeky bugger, the Asda ( Walton ) car park ( it's free and never checked by Merseyside Police. Than just a short walk up Utting Ave to the stadium.

Watch out for residents permits in these area.
"most of the streets are residents only but each of those streets on the map has 2+ bays for visitor"
To answer the lad's question, even though he is clearly a wrang-un, there are absolutely no safe places in Liverpool let alone the Anfield area to park a car.

It isn't 1980.

Perhaps if the OP has a high spec car that is stolen and shipped but car crime in Liverpool is relatively low as the criminals have bigger fish to fry.

Think I’d rather shower with the hound personally
