Facing stiff competition from the Cleo's/Joseph's dream teamWetherspoons will be putting in a bid.
Be good if someone like Black's or Tin of Sardines could do it. Tram Shelter is nice.Facing stiff competition from the Cleo's/Joseph's dream team
I really do hope so.
I'd love to be able to do a studio tour then finish off with a pint in the bar.
People will pay decent money for the privilege so I hope it is considered.
That could just be for staff on site in fairness. They will need a lot of catering. But yes, hopefully there will be provision for some element to be open to the public. This is the photo I referred to.

Sunderland TV and film studios to get government funding
The chancellor confirms a devolution package for the North East which will help fund the project.www.bbc.co.uk
From the website...Wouldn't it just be for people who's meant to be there? It's a working environment, not somewhere the public would be mingling about or somewhere to have yours.
for the two months a year its warm enoughit seems like Pinewood and Shepperton are both closed to the public but the big Hollywood studios do tours so might/should be an option, would be unique in this country!
I wonder if any thought's been made of using the river for transport? build a jetty and could use water taxis or something between the studios and the town. could have another one at the new galley's gill park, uni, marina...
they need hotels with VIP suites so the stars won't get hassle. From the website...
"Site C will deliver the ‘Vendors Village’ providing ‘in-demand’ services which will support the wider development, such as equipment rental companies, catering companies (for the cast and crew), set construction companies, wardrobe companies, post-production services (such as sound mixing, visual effects, editing etc) and prop rentals. A surface car park for around 245 cars is proposed."

You can imagine a canteen or cafe that let the people on the sets and the public mix together. Would put the ending to Blazing Saddles to shame.
Now that's a meeting I would like to see on the big screen. Be like Burton and Taylor arl owa again.Dave the rave meets Margot Robbie could be a film in itself.
There is one at the University IIRC. Probably smaller though.See the print works is going to be an education thing and the climbing wall will disappear. Presume the printers will move easy enough but where do you put the climbing centre, real shame if it goes but struggling to think where else you could put that. It's one of the biggest in the UK apparently.
Im sure the climbing wall is staying? At least for the first phase. Printers is defo going though.See the print works is going to be an education thing and the climbing wall will disappear. If anyone has been to Media City in Salford it is just like this. Similar to Nissan - its like a campus with support businesses around it. There's a pub there called the Dockyard (or summit) gets full of news readers, Corrie actors, weathermen etc....From the website...

If only there was a group campaigning to get the river dredged....You wouldn't get near the banks at low tide.
