Pallion Shipyards ➡️ World Class Film Studios

Wouldn't it just be for people who's meant to be there? It's a working environment, not somewhere the public would be mingling about or somewhere to have yours.

From the website...
"Site C will deliver the ‘Vendors Village’ providing ‘in-demand’ services which will support the wider development, such as equipment rental companies, catering companies (for the cast and crew), set construction companies, wardrobe companies, post-production services (such as sound mixing, visual effects, editing etc) and prop rentals. A surface car park for around 245 cars is proposed."

it seems like Pinewood and Shepperton are both closed to the public but the big Hollywood studios do tours so might/should be an option, would be unique in this country!

I wonder if any thought's been made of using the river for transport? build a jetty and could use water taxis or something between the studios and the town. could have another one at the new galley's gill park, uni, marina...
for the two months a year its warm enough

they need hotels with VIP suites so the stars won't get hassle.

I wouldn't expect the public to be able to just roam the site but it would make sense to have a public area at the entrance incorporating a cafe. So when they were trying to decide whether to cast you alongside Tom Cruise they could chat with you over a latte and bacon stotty.

See the print works is going to be an education thing and the climbing wall will disappear. Presume the printers will move easy enough but where do you put the climbing centre, real shame if it goes but struggling to think where else you could put that. It's one of the biggest in the UK apparently.

There is one at the University IIRC. Probably smaller though.

They may build one as a permanent set on the Crown Works and let it out during downtime.

If anyone has been to Media City in Salford it is just like this. Similar to Nissan - its like a campus with support businesses around it. There's a pub there called the Dockyard (or summit) gets full of news readers, Corrie actors, weathermen etc....

The LinkedIn post below is very significant for the shipyard studios. The fella who posted is Simon Aldred who is the founder of boardwick live who just so happens to be one if the partners in the project with metalwork pictures. The post has been liked by Peter Mcintyre.....lots of news coming in the next few weeks he says and transatlantic partnerships...hmmmm
