speed guns get doctored at home to make it look like the bowlers are quicker than they are, plus playing on slower wickets

Finn doesnt bowl low 90s for example but more high 80s

 really ? Surely that can't be true

Of course it isn't. It's just another chance for essex boy to have a pathetic dig at the England cricket team.

And on another note Tremlett must be the least intimidating 6ft 8" bowler I've seen. Not really much point being that tall if you're not particularly aggressive and don't bowl with great pace. I'm disappointed he was given a start ahead of Finn.

wouldnt call this the tail like. these two are showing england how to bat in the sub. runs come slowly, so be patient and stay in. taking the game away from us now.

By sub, do you mean the Indian sub-continent?

Where the game isn't being played?

Asian subcontinent?

Need another before end of play like.

Decent day for England, picking up a couple of wickets in each session. Pakistan still have the edge.

Missing having another spin option? Kp not bowl anymore?

sub conditions. flat beds.

strauss from 3 days ago

we are ready for this test match. we know that we need to be patient as playing on sub continent pitches means run can be hard to come by

Although I dont agree fully with EB about doctered speed guns.

Speen guns can be altered depending on where you set them up. Eg from the bowlers arm? Middle of wicket? End of wicket. Obviously the closer you set them up to the bowlers release the quicker its going to be.

Steve Harmison on his day could break through 90mph and he was blooming quick to the naked eye. Guys like Broad, Jimmy etc put simply do not bowl at 90mph and dont have the ability to bar the odd ball if they really bent their back and got everything right.

Right Fast and Right Fast Medium is a big difference. One is 90mph plus the other is 85-90

If the Indians are playing over here and they keep looking at the scoreboard after every ball and it showing Broad bowling 92mph as oppose to 87mph, it puts doubt in a batsmans mind and it also makes a huge difference having that split second shorter to play the ball even if the reality is different to what they are being told

I'd say Tait is probably close to, if not at the 100mph when he's at his absolute fastest although the 96mph recorded for Harris is intriguing I'll admit.

'intriguing'

Im just wondering where you been for the last few years. Ashes 09 every tom dick and harry was being clocked at 90mph from both teams

Tait is around 93-96mph. Give your head a shake man.

To be fair Harris is deceptively quick. I don't think it's inaccurate that he gets clocked at 90mph on a regular basis. But yeah, 96mph seems a bit far fetched.

He doesnt bowl 90mph on a regular basis.

Its not just you but people really have to get real here. Very few bowlers can bowl at 90mph because it is so difficult to do. Its also hugely disrespectful to the greats of years gone by that people are now arguing the likes of Harris were of a similar speed to Alan Donald. They werent, and never will be.

Out and quick which 90mph is, is a rarity plain and simple. Its not since the advent of speed guns that all of sudden we have this glutton of bowlers who bowl at 90mph. Its complete bollocks
