They aren't beyond staying up - there's been teams further adrift that have managed it in last 20 seasons a few times.

It's the terrible relationship between board, fans and players that's their biggest issue imo.

My view is that everyone goes down eventually, just takes 1 bad year. Like i mean Under these owners they were regularly in Europe and won a trophy

West ham spent as much time in the champ than the prem when I was growing up.

No doubt it’s gone south now

Forest squad look to good, I think Leeds stay up so I can’t really see who else

So not only do we need to worry about other clubs snatching our recruitment team, they’re after our message board scouts as well!
Troubled times

I'm gutted another Premier League team have bought him ahead of us. I would have been very happy if we'd spent £22m on him.

Then again, maybe we'll find a way to bring that Russian youngster in instead. Even more exciting a young player IMO. Absolutely banging them in from an attacking midfield position and not afraid to get stuck in to a challenge. Looks absolutely class.

At least they're trying I suppose. Never minded West Ham tbh & I'd prefer them to stay up over Forest, Leeds or Bournemouth but as long as it not us I suppose.....and I'd like to keep that 15pt gap today so its a Ha'way Wolves from me

They have to try something or they are going down

Yeah, the point of the thread wasn't really about them trying something, which I agree they absolutely must do. It was more about the bizarre nature of the gamble.

Before this season, this lad scored 8 goals in 63 games and cost Gil Vicente £250k in the summer. So most likely, West Ham have made a decision based on 13 games and paid £22m. The price shocks me to be honest, they could have bid half of that and I doubt Gil Vicente would be in a position to refuse. They could have let the player put in a transfer request and played it out for a couple more weeks.

Either someone else was sniffing around and they've just gazumped them to get him, they've decided to just pay top whack because they don't feel they can wait 3 weeks or they've massively misjudged the market.

This is kind of what you have to do now when buying a striker unless you’re willing to shell out insane money. It’s why I cringe everytime I see comments on Facebook with fans saying ‘we need a 20 goal a season striker’…. So does everyone else and a striker instantly seems to cost at least 20 million if they’ve had even one season scoring more than 10

Seems a massive gamble. Sometimes they workout. Seems unlikely this one will though.
Was reading that they have teamed up with that agent Jorge Mendes and the signings are his recommendations. He seems to follow Nuno around.
He's was Nunos agent when he was appointed by Wolves iirc. Could be wrang.
