Pablo Felipe

10 goals in 13 league games in Portugal this season and West Ham paid £22m for him.

Last season he was on loan at Gil Vicente, scored 5 goals in 20 games and Gil Vicente decided to sign him permanently this summer (6 months ago) for £250k...

I've never seen him before so can't judge his ability, but it reeks of utter desperation. I don't understand how you can't tempt Gil Vicente to sell for any less than a 10,000% profit in 6 months. Their previous record sale was £7m.

It's literally less than a week since I was recommending on here that we sign that lad.

They've had to get a striker or two in for the it's the last roll of the dice for them as they barely have a foward in the first team squad.

If anything, it shows you just how important it is to get recruitment right in the summer as January can be a minefield of unwanted/unproven punts due to clubs being unwilling to sell their best players halfway through the season.

Yep exactly this

They can’t just think “well we should have done this in the summer” they just have to get on with it and get who they can

I don’t think they will But if West Ham found form the league would become very very interesting

They aren't beyond staying up - there's been teams further adrift that have managed it in last 20 seasons a few times.

It's the terrible relationship between board, fans and players that's their biggest issue imo.
