We pay his wages, he's the best defender in that position and should be playing without doubt. We have fallen a long way when we consider Matthews to be acceptable. James looks capable of more improvement though.

Neither can James or Matthews, in Matthews case he’s scared of his own shadow. At least Oviedo gives you real quality in the last third

Yet had nothing to do their goal and he got the assist before he went off injured at HT. They literally played 6 at the back against us, when we went off we looked worse going forward

What the actual fuck... he was one of the few that has come here and done right by the club (and himself I'm sure), there's no reason to think he won't continue playing well.

Oviedo played well vs City 23s. Ross used it as reason to put Matthews back in & Oviedo had a better game than Matthews in that particular game.

I'd agree if the defence look good but they've looked dodgy for months, can barely keep a clean sheet & it's McLaughlin making quality saves or we're clearing it off the line like against Bradford & Blackpool
