Please to hear you're battling on Alex :)

My sister is halfway through her latest treatment after it came back a couple years of solace. She's doing OK.

I'll keep it brief Alex and I appreciate that you might not reply - we'll have to discuss it more when you're better.

I like the characters, but there seems to be a lot of dramatic interpretation. I'm re-checking my history as I'm watching each episode, I've only watched the first 2 or 3 as the kids are getting in the way. I may need to bury some of them with my hoard, that'll shut them up. ;)

- Ragnar's wife (Lagertha?) is a hottie, I asked my Mrs to do her hair in a similar fashion but I was rebuffed.
- I cannot imagine that a Viking couple would have asked their Christian slave to join for a threesome? Nor to look after their children whilst on a raid.
- Although he was possibly a mythical figure, was Ragnar Lothbrok supposed to be from Norway or possibly Sweden? The scenery seems to imply it, due to the fjords, mountains etc.
- I haven't seen Ragnar's hairy breeches yet!

As I said, I'll watch some more and make a note of any questions I have for you. Cheers.

Woken from yet another nap so back for a bit.

I did say the couple were lovely. :) I didn't know there had been a thread on the series on here early last year but it has long been locked it seems. The series deserves a thread, do you reckon there is a chance we could have the old one re-opened or should we just kick off a new one ? I have already seen the first two series but won't spoil anything for you, don't worry. But it would be good to have a chat about it on itself as I am looking forward to what you and others think of it all. A few of the episodes (of both series) I had to watch twice as I didn't fully get the plot the first time 'round but it gets easier the more into the series you get.

As if we've got owt better to do.;)
Keep your chin up mate.
A brief summary of what's happened since you've been away.
Cattermole, Larsson and Colback are all destined to win the World Cup or are the spawn of Gareth Hall.
Sunderland Council have done nothing whilst at the same time they have ruined the city by doing things.
Everyone voted UKIP so you will be forced to come back and live in the UK ( at least I think that's why they voted UKIP)
Some dirty stinking pervert had never heard of a plate pie. We've seen him off and he won't be back here again in a hurry.
In summary, you've missed nowt.;)

 Cheers, mate.

one up the bum no harm done
big love g xxx

:) Probably the drugs talking but you are rapidly becoming my guilty pleasure.

You're such a dick, you Danish cock-knocker.

 How much is a ringside seat for the circus this season ?

Thank you. Am sorry to hear about your sister but pleased that she is doing OK.

My prognosis isn't too good but if I can beat this once and for all I am sure I will be able to do anything I set my heart out for in the future. That is my goal still. May be over-reaching it but without a goal I would have nothing left. And though my specialists keep telling me to aim low at first and then gradually up my goals as I hopefully improve soon I can't deal with all this baby steps nonsense and am aiming high from the start. Every week is a Cup game at the moment with each passing day feeling like a penalty shoot-out. Thus far I am progressing to the next round bruised somewhat but I won't be happy till I lift the Cup. Hear me roar.

And on that note am going to put my head down for a bit again. Can't believe how much concentrating it takes to just sit at a keyboard for twenty minutes, am knackered.

Again, thank you all for your kind words and well-wishes. You are a bunch of good people the lot of you.

Thankfully they caught it quite early this time and cut pretty everything away but she has to have the treatment to be on the safe side. She never complains, I'm proud of her, a very brave girl :)

Rest up and prepare yourself for the next battle. The very best of luck to you mate, K.

As @wackyjacky said earlier, Alex travelled for 3 hours on his own to welcome us to Denmark last summer. Arrived with more than enough lethal Danish lager to keep us going over the course of our stay, put us on the right bus and organised our tickets with the bus driver and then went home. We spent our stay saying how we couldn't believe the bloke's generosity. He came to the match with us the following day so hopefully we made Sunderland's presence in his home country that bit more enjoyable.

Keep going, Alex mate! You'll beat this!

Alex, other than through this forum I don't know you from Adam but this place sometimes makes everyone feel like family. There's a lot of love on this little thread and most of it is for you. Get well soon stranger and friend.

You can beat this mate. After only reading a few of your posts your strength is inspirational.

All the best
