O'Nien

Normally would agree but he has been here years and is settled his kids are already sorted for schools .He will get loads of game time because of his versatility.Every manager we have had praises him for influence around the club ,think he will get a job when he hangs his boots up.
Suppose would you rather play a bit part in the prem or every week in the championship.

No brainer to me, prem all day long

I think this is the case and it genuinely surprises me. I get he loves it here but he's a footballer and he's still young enough to be playing regularly somewhere. I'd like to think there'll be a place for him at the club after his playing days so he can always come back
He has a young family and has seemingly embraced being in the area as wholeheartedly as he plays his football. It's refreshing to see a player genuinely connect with the area and I hope he sees out his playing days here.

I get all that and the emotional attachment but being a footballer is a short career and he is still young enough to go and play regularly at a good level.. genuinely surprises me that he's happy to be a bit part player.
MOTM at Leeds aswell
Which was ridiculous if we're being honest. Alderete was absolutely superb that night and was the best player on the pitch by a mile. O'Nien still played well mind

Maybe he just doesn't have the ego that other players do, he is content of being part of something bigger than himself and leaving a legacy at a place he calls home.

It's not an ego, haway man. Players want to play. He will always have his legacy here and deservedly so

Think the Leeds thing is irrelevant. If they decide that's a penalty, they'd have to start giving us 2-3 pens a game for offences vs Ballard and Brobbey. We never get them, not arsed they didn't either.
And as I said, visitors is a clear pressure one off we'll never see again now it's happened.

Not really considering that the VAR panel looked at it and unanimously decided that it was a mistake and a penalty should have been awarded.

He's played well overall when he has played. But there is no denying that he is prone to doing stupid things, which can often cost you.

He will never be considered as a PL level starter week in week out. Happy enough to have him have a squad player. But these are just the realities.

He's barely been used this season. If we sign another CB in the summer (e.g. Lucumi) then his minutes will be even more limited.

Seems to be well loved by the players , new and old. Great club captain who no doubt Reggie relies on to settle the newcomers in, and the way they have "got the club" is a lot down to him.
