Not having a go at Malan, but he looked nervous today. Johnny was a nothing shot. Brook looked in good nick but missed a half tracker, a bit weird since he went 4 4 6 with the same shot immediately before. Less said about the Mo shot the better. Root and Butler played nicely and looked to have repaired the early damage, Root on for a ton, but once Jos got out, it has been very poor. Shit shots from Root, Livingstone and the rest of the lower order if I'm being honest.
This should have been a 350+ score quite easily today. The ball has come on to the bat, not two paced, not a massive turner. Their good balls have come from taking the pace off, knuckle balls etc. The fact they could only play 3 bowlers and 20ovs have come from part timers, is criminal.
I am definitely not having a go at our game plan either. It's been a joy to watch for a few years now and hope they continue to attack. It's been their mostly poor application or execution of shots. I don't think we have prepared to defend our title at all well.

I think he got pigeon holed quite early in his England career as a bit of a nudge and nurdler, never has had the chance to bat up the order like a proper bat.
Morgan speaking well there, usually does when we've been below par mind.

This ground can have black soil or red soil and be a completely different wicket.
This is a black soil pitch supposedly and is better for batting.
