ODI World Cup

So you think this has been a good performance v an attack where 20 overs are from part timers. They have gifted wickets and other than the Root & Butler partnership applied no pressure to New Zealand at all.

There attract is missing Southee and Ferguson Neesham had never bowled 10 overs for them and Phillips is barely part time level.
I don’t think it’s been a good performance no. I also don’t think it’s been a complete and utter shambles. We will end up probably 25/30 short of par, not exactly the disaster you are making out.

Agree with all of that. We've let the Kiwis off the hook here. We have to bowl really well now to win this.

No, it hasn't been a shambles, far from it. Just not up to our usual very high standards, that's why most are pissed off I reckon. Especially when the conditions and personnel bowling to us have been in our favour.

This was definitely a 350+ score to be had today.

I will be nervous if Woody opens the bowling as while he could tear through them, his pace can mean boundaries.
Exciting to watch though.

Livingstone is an arse trying to drag that wide ball to leg.
Brain dead
It's what he does for England most of the time just try and smack every ball legside into the crowd.

Zero playing the match situation. I missed the motm performance he had against NZ last month.

But did he not play within himself and then went wild towards the end. Why couldn't he have done the same again?

Agree with that. My point was it isn’t a total shambles. We haven’t been at our best and will end up a bit below par. But the toys go out the pram every time we don’t get 350 on here.

We shall see but this isn't a sub 300 pitch.

Dew will be a factor and there 9 batsman means we needed a 330+ score.

We will see. I would have said 300 par, 330 a good score. We are going to come up short of par but don’t think it’s as good a pitch as some are making out.

I would have had Woody out, he may only face 6 balls, but will score around 20 runs
I would have had Wood out first like, you want someone like him in to put the pressure back on NZ.

I imagine Rashid will be in to stick around to let Curran do his thing though

I don't think there's been that much doom and gloom (not PF levels anyway), just a bit disappointed. Could have laid down a marker today, still might with the bowl mind.

Flip side, starting slower and peaking later in the tournament isn't too bad either.
