ODI World Cup

hmm I dont have any concerns that Brook cant handle the big stage. He seems to take everything in his stride and will probably rise to the occasion. He's played well in a number of big series and tournaments already. Livingstone is capable but unreliable imo. With Roy, Livingstone and Billings all in the same team I always feared the worst.

Mott doesn't rule out making changes to the squad
Tom Curran needs to be in imo, I’d swap Livingstone for him. Get the in-form players in the squad.

Obviously Brook has to be in there, he’s the next superstar. Malan makes way for me, he’s been a good servant but why on Earth would anyone not stick a 24 year old upcoming superstar in ahead of a 36 year old seasoned but not stand-out international.

Average of 37 in t20 and 54 in odi is stand out

7 of his 18 ODI’s were against Ireland, Netherlands and Bangladesh.

In his 18 ODI’s he’s had 5 ducks.

He’s had a few decent ODI scores, two good centuries against Australia and South Africa. The Australia century he followed with 0 and 2.

But there’s a reason he has only had 18 ODI’s - he’s not a stand-out international.

And his excellent t20 record probably up with best ever

Assume you drop him for Brook which I would
That’s what I’d suggested. I’ve always said I like Malan, but I wouldn’t keep him in, especially at 36, when Brook can play and gain valuable World Cup experience in his prime.

That and big Curran for Livingstone as he’s more dependable.

Not sure why your discounting performances against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.

In Asian conditions, especially at home they are good side. Beat India and South Africa in series in last few years.

Too much talk about top order. I'm more worried about Livingstone/Moeen than which one of Roy,Brook orMalan may be a travelling reserve.

I suspect they will all be in the squad and one of the pacemen becomes travelling reserve instead.

Squad for games v Ireland announced later today. Expected to be without all in the provisional squad. Sam Hain and Jamie Smith believed to be in the squad. Possibly a late chance for someone to break into the main squad.
And on that subject, guess who has been added to the ODI squad v New Zealand? Rhymes with Garry Crook. Shock.
Squad announced. Looks like we are without Carse & Potts for our last 2 games. Both named in the squad.
