ODI World Cup

I was honestly under the impression until yesterday that the Champions Trophy had been binned off. There’s no reason for it to exist anyway.

While the Afghans are impressive, it would be a shame if the game died in places like WI and SL, nice places to tour, in favour of Afghanistan. Where next, Gaza? Ukraine? ;)

I agree with you. But the places you mention are not hostile places going y personal experience.

Don't believe everything the telly tells you marra.

Fuck the MSM
Just highlights how little Afghanistan get to play the top sides more than anything.

He's only played them nations twice outside of a tournament whether that be World Cup/Asia Cup.

Oh wow MB. Don't get me started on the injustices in cricket. The mods on here won't be happy 🤣🤣
Yeah, I guess it does like. Hopefully this WC proves that they should get more bilateral series against the big boys.

I would like politics to be kept out of sport, and I'm not comfortable with the Taliban's influence on their game. Something definitely should be done, but what?

We ignore what the India government and BCCI do politically to the PCB, so I'm not holding my breath that the ECB step in and do something about the Taliban.

Bang on. They bowled, fielded and batted superbly today. Massive difference to the likes of us and Paks is like night and day. They have all the application and abundance in energy that we've been missing.

I like the cut of your jib N

That indeed got a pal that went exploring Iraq(visited Hussein palace and everything) and Pakistan on his own.

Some of the most friendly people he'd come across, just invited to stay and fed at random people's houses for free. Imagine that happening in the UK, far too selfish people.

I was laughing at your mod jibe in your post just FYI

I assumed the CT was cancelled in 2021 because of covid, but seemingly the ICC were going to change the format to something else after 2017, then in 2021 changed their minds and announced that the CT would resume for 2025 and 2029. Presumably this would have been the same meeting where the qualification criteria were changed

Such as?
Genuine question because I think it's heading to the point where it's indisputable but... has there ever been a worse defence of a world championship title, in ANY sport, than England's performance here?
France in 2002. Didn't score a single goal I think.
Afghans Vs Sri Lanka today. Lankans batting 1st labouring to 250+. Currently 134-3 27ovs. Afghans bowling well. Would it be another upset if they won again today? One of the highlights of the WC for me, their emergence as a proper team.
They're a good team, but it's difficult to see how they still qualify as a national team though, really. It's very brave to play under the flag that pisses off the taliban, but it means obviously they can't even go home, never mind play cricket there. Where's their pool of new players going to come from?

If a team of South Africans had done something similar against the apartheid regime would they have been given the same status?

If you need to ask. Then you not worthy of a answer. im sorry if that offends. But I have no time in my life to educate people too ingrained in the matrix.

Mackembhoy gave a valid response. Take note.

I am currently miles away from a msm hotpoint. With no immediate safety issue's surrounding me and my family.

If you think my answers are vague and cryptic. Blame the society that abhors free thinkers and dissenters. Not me

Can't say I blame him. He must feel shit being the only one out there not getting a contract.
No doubt he'll hawk himself around every T20 competition. Who of us could honestly say we wouldn't do the same in his position? A very finite window for players to make decent money and he doesn't have that long left.

Scored 4 tons at the WC. I think we've scored one as a team.

He's scored nearly as many runs himself in this WC as we have as a team in our last four games.
He’s going to smash sachems run record in this World Cup by the look of it. Sure he only needs about another 100 now
