I still think there's an over-reliance on stats in the England setup - adaptability appears to be discouraged in favour of very specific and set plans. Fine if you play 200 games a season like in baseball because the percentages will work in your favour eventually. Not so great for tournament or knockout play.
Cricketers also seem to go on like right fannies these days with away tours, especially when things start to go pear shaped. They basically gave up after 3 games.

I think it’s a bit unfair mind to call last years T20 world cup win a fluke.
For example the semi final win against India was one of the best performances I have seen from an England side considering it was a semi final and the opposition.
This tournament I can scarcely believe,would not believe it if I had not seen it.
It’s been unbelievably bad, and considering the players we had the worst tournament performance by a England side in living memory

Closest to this has to be the 96 effort as that was farcical and then 99 was a disaster- but not as bad as this shit.
The players happy or not have not given a good account of themselves. Thought processes haven’t been good, Steve Finn was talking about the stats used to chase v South Africa, and said it was 4 ODI in 10’years so assumed it was t20 data. Shockingly bad if true

Yeah think it the worst easily as the other tournaments were not that expecting much.
It seems ridiculous now but we came into this tournament as 11/4 second favorites, from that extent it’s a massive fuck on a epic scale and why I think worst ever
Bit generous that. I can remember every tournament there’s been other than the one off test job in 1912 which England won. So far as I can tell I’m still alive. So plain and simple worst ever surely.

I thought we’d be around 3-5 positionally. Scrape in our just miss out. I never dreamt we’d be utterly hopeless and make the wrong choice seemingly at every turn. It’s going to be a sad end to this teams run,none of them deserve to go out like this but it’s been cricketing suicide from ball 1

Id say we fluked through the group stage in the end, if the Australia game wasn't rained off Im certain they'd of beaten us. Obviously the performances against NZ, India and Pakistan after that we're exceptional but it took us a while to get going.

On a complete tangent. What ever happened to the individual WC strips? I'm sure each country had their own special design and colours for each WC.
All of the teams strips this WC are devoid of vibrant colour and imagination. Boring identikits that have been worn for years.
