NUFC/Sportwashing

You don't need to justify anything to me mate, if you support the mags being bought by MBS and the Ruebans that's your choice, similarly I can choose the to be totally disgusted that your club has been taken over and will be used as an outlet to normalise one of the cruelest and vilest regimes on the planet.
Can I support Newcastle and be glad of a takeover AND be disgusted that my club has been taken over by a cruel, vile regime seeking to Sportswash their crimes?

Or is nuance forbidden?

That Newcastle forum linked on here is bizarre

There's a thread dedicated to Sunderland where they're posting updates on the number of pages / posts on this thread on RTG

Then post about how obsessed Sunderland fans are with them. Without pausing for a second to ponder the irony
It’s mad isn’t it. I think the press feed a lot of it - if KLD had bought NUFC the local press would have done 4 page reports and it would have been “football history rich family buy Magpies”.

Of course you can - that’s what a lot of Sunderland supporters would do too. NUFC fans have to get used to owning the fact that these people own the club though - that’s what some people will “what about” over and bury heads in the sand.

As for the local politicians they’ve given up their right to wade in on the next humanitarian crisis imo - hypocrites of the highest degree.

Of course not, that's totally hypocritical.

It's the direct equivalent of being pleased the German government was booted out by the Nazis.

At least the German people had the excuse that they didn't know what the Nazis were capable of.

You know, in great detail, what your owners are capable of.

It's not nuance, it's self-brainwashing.

Another Tory journalist getting hits. Very boring. It went a long time ago is the only thing I agree with. Sorry but it won't change anything

Had a scroll through last night and was hardly surprised to see the "Sunderland are no longer our rivals" stuff

The handful of mags on here are largely responsible for the thread being so big too

It's like the Peace and the Fish are on a tag team. When one isn't on it, the other one is.

Who they think they're arguing with /persuading/ changing minds /justifying the situation, I have no idea

Takes some commitment mind to spend dozens, perhaps hundreds of hours on a forum to argue with people who will never share your view

So, to be clear, I'm brainwashed in thinking the Saudis are awful and shouldn't own a football club?

That's a sad admission.

Sorry but that's far too simplistic. We hate Ashley for many thubgs:

Treatment of Jonas Guttierrez, Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan, Chris Houghton, clumsy attempt to rename SJP, using ground as a marketing vehicle for Sports Direct whilst paying nothing for said marketing, appointung cronies with no football experience being their competence (Lambias, Jiminez etc).
Look, I can't argue with any of that, but "hate", seriously? You hate someone because of those reasons?

If that's how you feel about a man who does the things you listed, then I'd love to know how you feel about a man who kills innocent children, the LGBT community's and anyone who wishes to protest against his actions...

I’ve just had a quick look. Absolutely f***ing tragic. 700 page thread about us, explaining how we are obsessed

It’s far to easy rinsing these f***ing morons. The most needy set of folk on earth

Was wondering if Tottenham fans were bothered about Newcastle’s takeover and whether they would be saying much on Sunday at their televised match at St.Butcher’s Park. Seems they will be!

Check out and spurscommunity.co.uk.

There’s some really serious stuff including a Saudi dissident group planning to protest at every match Newcastle play, asking Spurs fans to get involved in their protest on Sunday including holding up a banner of the murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi and someone suggesting taking in thousands of fake bank notes with Boris Johnson and MBS’s heads on to scatter from the elevated away end of the ground.

The match header on The Fighting Cock site, instead of just saying Newcastle:away, says versus The Entire Sovereign Population and Government of Saudi Arabia aka Newcastle Away (🤣) and many comments suggests we aren’t the only club disgusted by the takeover, eg:
Let’s hope we don’t win or they may fly planes into our new stadium before we’ve paid for it”
and on Spurs Community site:
“Pathetic club becoming MBS’s plaything, low life
playing in a shit, overrated town full of bright orange women”.

Maybe a few posters on here want to go on these sites and put some of the stuff that’s appeared on here of late like Sky reporter Keith Downie’s tweet, Olly Holt’s reply and Downie’s retraction and the subsequent cartoons of Saville, Thatcher, bin Laden and Prince Andrew! Plus @cheeses of nazereth new NUFC badge, think that’d take off on their sites.

Seems like other clubs feel very strongly about this issue too, as well as some serious political groups. It’s building all the time as it sinks in.
To "Santa Claus is coming to town" tune 😂

You'd better be straight
You'd better be male
You'd better shut up
Or you're going to jail

Bin Salman is coming to Toon
Bin Salman is coming to Toon
Bin Salman is coming, for YOUUUUUUUUU.

You are right. I have posted on the mag (not as a Sunderland fan - they think I am an Evertonian for some reason) but just factual stuff on finances and have got slaughtered as it doesn't fit their view. Nothing controversial just facts but my skin isn't thick enough to argue back like the mags on here.

Your new owner is using sport as propaganda and tool to influence the west. This all part of the Saudi 2030 project. He plotted the murder of Jamal Kasshoggi. Locked hundreds of journalists without trial. Stoned women for adultery and people who "decided" they are gay. Bombed Yemen killing thousands of innocent people. But at least he'd never change the name of a football stadium.

“Sunderland fans are only highlighting human rights abuses since our takeover”.

Doesn’t mean it’s incorrect does it? Mental.
