Latest deflection tactics are

mags “It’s not the fans fault they bought us”

the response “but you protested for 2 years, cartel, closed shop, corrupt, masters etc”

mags “oh that was just to get rid of Ashley”
I'm not defending them at all. I've called them out as bastards multiple times. I'm just calling out the hypocritical nature of this assault on Newcastle fans.
Your owners bomb innocent children and kill people for being gay.

Correct. I will qualify that I work overseas however am in a fortunate position that I can pay for the expensive tickets when home, should I wish to attend.
As I stated earlier I am conflicted. I have been going since my teenage years during which we have mostly been shite however it has, in the main, be great. Weekends away with the lads, then my boys growing up, which many on here will empathise with.
The thought that, after 35+ years we might (probably will) win something excited my, and still does. On balance however I feel I will have to refrain from attending. There are more important things at stake. This is, on balance, a step too far. I do however realise that others will feel the same but continue to attend, not wish to miss out, feel they can support the team without the ownership.
They may be right. Each to their own.
Well said. It’s out of the frying pan into the fire for mags, one owner hated by themselves to another who’s disliked by just about everyone including those who have no interest in football whatsoever.
From ‘everyone’s second favourite club’ to a pariah. And if you think Leeds were disliked … 😀

It's a shame to see so many posters on here resorting to derogatory comments about Islam in general. I find that quite offensive.

This is NOT the problem, the problem is the horrific actions of the Saudi government and the majority of mags who seem happy to endorse it.

Don't lower yourselves to their level by insulting what is predominantly a peaceful religion.
cant comment on derogatory posts as not seen them but agree with the predominantly peaceful religion. Worked out in UAE for 20 months (inc 2 Ramadans) which gave me a new perspective! The Imams here could promote their religion better by speaking out against hate preachers and those intent on radicalisation--they might do at their own Mosques but need to show they are to win more support

This from 2009, but still sounds good:

“I hope Newcastle go down. There’s no better sight than seeing fat, topless Geordies crying.” And so say all of us. He hasn’t written a decent song for years, but Noel Gallagher can still deliver a killer soundbite.

The ambassador role that MBS has in mind for Shearer Is under some question now due to Shearer mentioning the Kingdoms poor human rights record. Apparently they have invited him to the Saudi Embassy in London to discuss it in more detail.

But the point remains, if he is so anti Saudi Arabia, why is he encouraging the sportswashing by attending an event? Is it ok because he's paid for it? Surely he's benefitting from the exact same blood money? He's just another in a long line of hypocrites.

When Chelsea and City were challenged previously the bloke tweeted 'it doesn't matter where the money has come from' - why's he happy to turn a blind eye then?

It's not an honest question, it's a dig at me and the answer has already been given multiple times on a thread that's probably going to reach 1000 pages of the exact same back and forth bullshit.
Sorry, I should have read through the thread, no dig intended.

The 100,000 supporting the statement that Bin Salman is a stand up bloke that helped the UK with its Covid response (mind, I’m not sure how that’s being spun as a positive!) as tweeted a couple of pages back is a pretty good counter argument to that one.

if it doesn’t end his career it should absolutely mean him and the other NE jorno’s crawling up the Saudi’s arses are banned for the SoL.
I have been wanting this for a while regarding Downie - A complete bias reporter towards them lot who should definately be banned now

A rich awab man is what they always wanted. Not a team that tries because they where unhappy at finishing 4 th under robson and 5 th under pardew. The only reason they turned on Ashley was because he didn’t buy the league like Chelsea did that’s what they expected him to do. They only turned on him when they seen what happened to Man City and they wanted Ashley out because they thought if they can do it so can we.

Sorry but that's far too simplistic. We hate Ashley for many thubgs:

Treatment of Jonas Guttierrez, Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan, Chris Houghton, clumsy attempt to rename SJP, using ground as a marketing vehicle for Sports Direct whilst paying nothing for said marketing, appointung cronies with no football experience being their competence (Lambias, Jiminez etc).

I actually feel sorry for decent Newcastle fans who hate what is happening.
I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I’d rather SAFC forever languished in the lower leagues than have our club tainted by that disgusting regime.
Saudi Arabia has the death penalty for, amongst other things, apostasy, homosexuality and witchcraft. This is the tip of the iceberg. I’ve no doubt some right-on moron will come out with the ‘they don’t know any better’ bollocks, (or ‘we were no better 600 years ago’), but that utterly patronising apologist stance couldn’t be further from the truth. At least some of the Royals are university educated, some in the U.K., I believe.

They‘re just evil, bloodthirsty, power hungry bigots who use religion as a weapon to brutally oppress the population. The sooner the regime are overthrown and punished for their crimes, the better. This takeover will haunt Newcastle United forever, but hey, as long as they win something…

Cracking post.
