Ok you are right. So we haven't even benefitted from any blood money yet.

Because numpties like you misinterpreted it.
Danny Kelly was very clear regarding whataboutery on the radio on Monday night. He said, if we let the likes of yourself use it as justification for your new owners with regards to putting fuel in our cars, using Facebook etc then free speech and morals are all but dead and we are merely controlled by a small amount of media types.

The difference is (which you already know, of course), no-one takes to the streets with cans when they fill up at the pumps or dress as Mark Zuckerberg.

I posted this in the Spurs well up for Mags away on Sunday (Sky TV 16:30) thread as I saw a link to the forum and noticed this post. It's to the "Santa Claus is coming to town" tune 😂

You'd better be straight
You'd better be male
You'd better shut up
Or you're going to jail

Bin Salman is coming to Toon
Bin Salman is coming to Toon
Bin Salman is coming, for YOUUUUUUUUU.

So, to be clear, I'm brainwashed in thinking the Saudis are awful and shouldn't own a football club?

.

Youve ignored a point you can't answer, which is your usual smokescreen.

What I'm saying is that you're trying to claim you're happy about being taken over by the Saudi state but unhappy that it's the Saudi state.

It's the same thing and you're trying to convince yourself it's entirely different.

You just can't see how you come across can you?

It was a direct quote conversation with @Black Cat Gypsy that others jumped into. It was always a discussion about whether someone is evil by association. See his Vince McMahon post.
@Grumpy Old Man said it better. A useful idiot. But personally I think Staveley would deal with the devil if it benefited her.

Vince McMahon is a good example. He did a deal with Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudis. A deal that the WWE thought would be good for them. Instead he's locked into a deal he can't get out of.

You fall down a hole, someone pulls you out, it's a member of the KKK. Can you be happy you're out of the hole, but unhappy at who did it?

Can I support Newcastle and be glad of a takeover AND be disgusted that my club has been taken over by a cruel, vile regime seeking to Sportswash their crimes?

Or is nuance forbidden?
You’ll cheer in your support of the team, what have you got planned to show your disdain of the regime?

At this point it’s all about perception and the perception being perpetuated across social media is that nearly all of your fans are supportive of the Saudis as there’s simply no dissenting voices amongst your support making themselves heard.

I’ve read your fans across social media saying things like that ‘the Saudis just do things differently and that it doesn’t make them wrong’ and none of yours pulling them up on it. Then when fans of other teams do yours pile in with their whataboutery and general sportwashing spam.

You’re going to need some of your more right thinking fans to put their heads above the parapet starting on Sunday or you’re going to have to accept the general perception across the footballing world that you as a fanbase are in support of the Saudi regime and have sold your souls in the hope of a few trophies.

The ambassador role that MBS has in mind for Shearer Is under some question now due to Shearer mentioning the Kingdoms poor human rights record. Apparently they have invited him to the Saudi Embassy in London to discuss it in more detail.
Never to be seen again.
Sorry but that's far too simplistic. We hate Ashley for many thubgs:

Treatment of Jonas Guttierrez, Alan Shearer, Kevin Keegan, Chris Houghton, clumsy attempt to rename SJP, using ground as a marketing vehicle for Sports Direct whilst paying nothing for said marketing, appointung cronies with no football experience being their competence (Lambias, Jiminez etc).
Which was all his purchase of NUFC was ever intended to be, tbf.

IMHO, the current mag players should be up for it - putting their very limited skill in the shop window, knowing they won't be part of the oncoming campaign to dominate the universe.

Time will tell marra, although is this day and age average (or worse) players don’t need to do anything of note to secure contacts elsewhere.

We’ve seen Jack Rodwell, Jason Steele & Remi Matthews leave us and get contacts at PL clubs!

All about the image.

@_GIFN: New Newcastle United owners PIF are ready to offer €1 billion to buy Inter, with the Zhang family now considering a sale, report Libero. PIF are looking to improve Saudi Arabia's global image and are also interested in Marseille.

Nuance is the wrong word as there is nothing subtle in your contrasting emotions. In fact, I would argue that they are the antithesis of one another and that you have contradicted yourself.

If this goes through its a clear indication Newcastle isn't going to be the money pit the fans crave, merely another entry on the balance sheet.

Let's wait til the toys are out of the pram when they accuse their new paymasters of giving another lover more attention.

Sheik Mabelly offers to pay your mortgage and a generous weekly beer allowance to be your friend. He comes in at odd hours of the day smelling like an abattoir and switches off the telly when Graham Norton is on.

Do you

Demand to know the details before getting involved?

Decide you want no part of this deal, as you trust your instinct that the offer is shady?

Strap a tea towel around your nappa, hoy on a nightie and dance around for television cameras?

Wow that is damning.
While I’ve always maintained the moral compass of Britain doesn’t fall on NUFC or its fans, that cartoon really should hopefully provide some useful reflections on what they’re now inescapably part of. (And pining for)
interesting this same consortium are trying to buy Inter Milan as well apparently? Not sure how that'd sit with me, being part of a wider network of clubs, much like the Red Bull clubs.
I mean how do you own two clubs who could be in for the same players, potentially playing in the same competitions?

I've already contacted the flag group to ask/suggest/request they have banners or flags raising awareness of victims of the regime. I planned to email the LGBT group but will need to choose my words carefully. It's not a good look for a straight white man to tell minority groups how they should protest.
