Hopefully it’s a vocal minority and you may start to drag your name out of the gutter
We could oust the Saudis, march over there and establish a liberal, democractic regime, solve world peace, end poverty and our names would still be in the gutter for some of you lot ;)

I'll set aside the replies to SAFC fans, because that's tribalism. Any criticism from your fanbase will be viewed first and foremost as jealousy and rivalry. Rightly or wrongly, that is the nature of the beast.
Ok, have you seen the replies to Oliver Holt then?

I’m not looking to draw you in to condemning your fan base, I don’t expect you to do that and you’ve been generally very reasonable on this thread but I believe your assertion that your fans are generally supportive only of the team and not the regime may be inaccurate. Even if it’s not then the vocal minority across Twitter and the way they’re going on will mean that the general perception of you (way beyond this board and SAFC fans) will be that you’re supportive.

That’s what they’re paying for I guess.

All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing

Attributed to Edmund Burke (though there is no evidence he ever said it.

I wish they would explain their definition of impossible. It’s not the same as mine. There’s a huge difference between can’t and won’t. I would think it was impossible to convince a gay person that being thrown from a tall building or being castrated was a good idea. But that’s just me.

Petty tribalism isn't it? Anything critical of the club and they'll leap to defend it. Not because they think the Saudis are alright lads who're just misunderstood, but because that tribalism is what football is for so many people. Look at how the Scousers rallied behind Suarez, or how the Man City fans go after Miguel Delaney, and so on and so forth.

You're right that the perception is that we're overjoyed to finally owned by someone properly evil, instead of the poundland evil we've had to put up with so far. But it's just not the whole picture.
