@FootballJOE: "We could look at the situation in Saudi Arabia and we could rightly condemn it, but it’s not really our responsibility as a group to act on something..." United with Pride told JOE they had been put in an "impossible position" following the takeover. Newcastle LGBTQ+ group defend statement, say they were put in 'impossible position' by Saudi takeover | JOE.co.uk
Roughly translated we believe in our group and what it stands for so much we will turn a blind eye because of a few big signings despite the regime being against LGBT so much it regards it a criminal offence.
Any normal person makes a joke about the subject though I can guarantee they would be vilified condemned widespread online
Total hypocrites.
That group is worth fuck all on the back of that, should hang their heads in shame.
Didn’t they say they thought their group would have positive influence on Saudi state and their views on the subject ??, total frauds

I honestly don’t know how she expects anyone to take her seriously after the way she’s conducted herself. In an issue littered with hypocrisy and double standards she is head and shoulders above anyone else. She’s undermined the credibility of her party and her gaffer wants his f**king arse booting for letting her get away with it. No one is going to come out of this smelling of roses but she will be forever tainted by the stench of shit and rotten corpses.
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she’s already penning a complaint to the Guardian about that cartoon. As she’s already demonstrated, she’ll refine her “convictions” at the drop of a hat to garner favour with her electorate.

Is Keith Downie for real ffs. What an absolute berk.

Still, when FIFA sells football's soul and allows the WC to be played in Qatar where human life appears to mean f### all, should we ever be surprised at anything that happens in this rancid sport ?

All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing

Attributed to Edmund Burke (though there is no evidence he ever said it.
King Selassie something similar

"Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph."

Although he was a pretty shady bloke.
