NUFC/Sportswashing - Summer 2022

This is their squad at the moment. 2 existing or new players will be added to make a 25 man squad:

Pope Dubravka Darlow

Trippier Krafth

Schar Lascelles Burn Botman

Dummett Targett Lewis

Joelinton Shelvey Longstaff BrunoGuimares

Saint-Maximin Murphy Almiron Fraser Willock

Wilson Wood

They’ve signed 2 attackers in 2 years (Wood and Willock).

They’ve signed 30 year old left footed centre half Dan Burn for 13m on a 2.5 year deal, then immediately bought Botman for the same position at 35m or so. New contract for 30 yr old championship crock Paul Dummett as well.

25m on 30 year old Wood on a 2.5 year deal.

All the full backs are championship level aside from 32 year old Trippier (always injured) and former Villa reserve Targett, who is probably good enough for the bottom half of the Premier League.

I don’t think Pope is much better than Dubravka either.

And it’s all overseen by a man who was lifted off the scrap heap after getting relegated in his last full Premier League season.

Honestly think that side will finish about 12th or 13th, hopefully lower with a bit of bad luck.

The fans have never accepted seasons like that - they amounted to “14 years of hell under Ashley” iirc.

After the way they’ve been going on recently - constantly talking about 80k stadiums and their inevitable rise up the league - I can honestly only see a complete and utter meltdown by Christmas as the most likely outcome here.

Fingers crossed

I'd say the Mags are being remarkably quiet.

They seem to have calmed down from the tea towel idiocy and realise people are looking at them differently.

They kept claiming they only wanted Ashley out and a team that tries.

They won't dare stamp their feet now otherwise they'll look dafter than usual.

They are the new Wimbledon. Hoof ball from Trips hitting Wilson or a Wood and ASM/Wilcock feeding of scraps. If they win a free kick or corner then they have two monsters in Botman and Burn. They will do ok, especially at home and if the draw is kind could do well in the cup. it’s a bit like Big Sam at a Bolton. Mags can deny it but the stats back it up. It likely doesn’t feel like it, when at the games, as they are caught up,in the euphoria but essentially they sold their soul to be the new crazy gang.

Meltdown, abuse; disrespecting the Saudis and islam, then the Mufti's issuing fatwa's all over the place. Mint!

Who do you have finishing 7-11? Aside from the big 6 finishing where you would expect them to of course.

Can’t see nufc finishing below 5 of the also rans. West Ham, Leicester and wolves/villa at a maybe, but any of the rest … not for me.

Anywhere between 7th - 10th would be my prediction. All of which would be an improvement and progress on last season
