Obviously in your work and life you can PRETEND to have morals. But how do you feel in yourself, knowing you have no morals. That everything you do is a sham. All so you can have Chris Wood up frond. I ,personally, couldn't live with it.

Ok, then you’d stop supporting Sunderland in the same instance. I respect you for that. You’d be in the minority but I appreciate your ability to do that.

I have asked myself a lot what I would have done if they had bought us... and this is my conclusion

1. I wouldn't have stopped supporting Sunderland.

2. I would probably still go. Not often, but given I live in the Southeast I only do 5 or 6 home games a season now so it's easy for me to say that.

3. I wouldn't be as proud to be a Sunderland fan as I am now. I would be as critical as anyone and like agree with opposing fans who critisied our ownership. I'd not buy new shirts or merchandise in a personal protest. I'd call out any daft buggers who defended the Saudis online or in the ground. I'd support any protest movement.

4. It wouldn't cross my mind to dress as an arab, defend the Saudis or mention Uber or Disney. Nor would I claim I'd "got my club back".

Thank you for your honest and reasoned answer. This is the same as me almost word for word except point 2 as I have a ST.

Botman and Burn both play on the left hand side of a centre back pair. Botman is expected to be better than Dan Burn (I know, I know, he's signing for us so he has to be overrated and shite and all that incredibly balanced stuff). With those two things in mind, it makes sense to have Botman ahead of Burn, but that doesn't mean Burn won't play an important role this season. Hell, they might play one of them on the right, who knows? But this is one person's opinion about who should be playing.

For what it's worth, that 'Team that tries' banner was in response to our previous owner's obvious absence of ambition and the many lackluster performances in 2014/15 that almost lead to another relegation. I think it's first outing was the game at Leicester where we got pumped 3-0 and ended the game with 9 men.

15/16 season - £97m spent

Clear lack of ambition there.

Why all this torturing yourself though? That's what I don't understand. It's obvious all the things going around your head ,aren't making you happy about the situation ( if this happened to us). So make yourself feel better, and just withdraw your support. It's the easiest thing ever. And I have had a season ticket for 20 odd year, have been all over the country watching us, been absolutely brayed arl ower watching us, so I am a loyal fan. These people would go from the club eventually, just go back then. I just don't get it, how people can put their morals to one side.

And the previous 7 years of Ashley's tenure? And the amount recouped from transfers? And... you know, context?

Is the ambition of 14yrs of an owner solely reflected in gross spend across 2 seasons?

You said the Saudis can’t get worse ! That implies that what they do now is not enough for you and the majority of fans to say we don’t want them ? You were all vocal to say you didn’t want Ashley some using his employment practices as a reason. What you are saying is because it looks like this barbaric ownership might throw loads of cash to appease the fans then what they currently do is an acceptable trade off ! How much further would they have to go ? If they sponsored another 9/11 in London ?
