“Grow organically and have a sensible wage budget”. What a load of crap. Without the heavy Saudi subsidy, Newcastle could never afford to spend a few hundred million and attempt to break into the top 6. It’s all about the Saudis pumping in millions in return for mugs like yourself defending their atrocities.

Apparently there’s a lot of room for manoeuvre due to the frugal nature of Ashley’s reign.

The investment would never have came under Ashley but an Ellis short or someone similar could just have easily bought the club and put in the same as what has been currently invested without risking the club going to the wall.

Lots of clubs have spent a fortune over the past 5 years with far less rich owners.

Aston Villa have spent more (the famous net spend) than nufc since 2017

Everton have also spent more although they’re paying the price now it seems for too many poor signings and a scattergun approach which has went horrendously bad

Eddie Howe seems to be a lot more astute in the market signing proven experienced premier league players. The only foreign player I can think of is Bruno who has been a revelation

do you think the new signings play for free ?
Ignore the Mag horse puncher

Someone last night went through the tweets of those offended and found that most of them had been calling the players they are so angry at being called deadwood ‘cvnts’ and some of them sending racist tweets whilst preaching about being nice haha just want to be offended that lot.

I get what the Saudis do at the request of Yemen (yes their government has requested their support), what I don't get is as fans we wouldn't want them here?? Since NUFC were taken over the noise has been unbelievable when nothing was said when Man City and Sheffield Utd were bought by middle east money, why? Man Utd have had investment from them for years but again nothing is said. I know I sound like a gravy guzzler but when you take the red and white specks off my points are valid and if they came here with all the money not a word would be said. simple as that.
Poor effort.
Now fuck off

Weird thing is the term Deadwood is actually a much used term as described in for people who are no longer usefull or productive. They are no longer useful or productive. They probably are not adding anything to the team.

Strange people.

Oh dear the chronic will be tying an 4 page pull out apology as we speak to the Orcs.
They thought most of their players were deadwood under Bruce

There's a LOT of wriggle room, but there's a few good reasons not to throw money all over the place, more than we have already anyway.

If we ate into the healthy FFP cushion we'd have less room to manoeuvre in later windows, at least until our sponsorship increases.
Even if we were to sign a £60M Striker, our squad is a good distance from being a top 6 club and the extra revenue that brings.
Spend big sums on individuals now and the marker is down that Newcastle will pay big sums and our negotiating hand is already weaker for future signings.

We've walked away from deals where the agent has taken the piss, and we've only spent over the odds on one player so far (Wood) imo.

I wouldn't be surprised to see another signing or two towards the end of the window, but just as important is shifting on the players who aren't good enough to make the squad anymore; Clark, Darlow, Fernandez, Gayle, Hayden, Hendrick, Lascelles. Soon enough it'll be Almiron, Fraser, Schar, etc. Free up some space in the squad, free up some wages.

It’s starting. Not the Man City they were expecting.

In a nutshell. They expected to be throwing £M ‘s and getting every top player they went for ?
These owners have little interest in Newcastle as a team and region. If they had bought a London or Italian team it would have been different ! Not much cache in the NE for them in reality other than a bunch of utter clowns liable to embarrass them culturally at the drop of a hat
