The Premier League set a rod for their own backs by previously allowing games to be called off when it was blatantly obvious covid was only one factor.

The FA got it right for the FA Cup saying clubs HAVE to play no excuses allowed.

The Premier League now have the headache of squeezing these games in before the season ends, it's a World Cup year so not loads of time anyway.
I think the mistake they made was allowing clubs to request postponements.
Surely they are furnished with covid data from each club daily, they and only they should then decide if the following game involving that club can take place against very strict criteria

One of the two (at least) will be going down.
Probably. If they can drag someone else back into the mix though…..

The ”mistake” is that the owners of the PL (the 20 clubs) want as few hard and fast rules as possible. One day they may want to sell their club so want as little obstacle as possible in the way of a bidding war breaking out. The lion in the PL badge isn’t known as Litore The Lion for nowt. (Light Touch Regulation The Lion)

Hopefully Burnley and Watford have the game called off, a nice little rest, players in and out. Would be class if they were in a situation where a draw kept them both up.

This is getting beyond a joke
Weirdly a couple of weeks ago when Brentford wanted a shutdown of the full league, dyche was on ssn rubbishing it saying no let’s keep playing.

Mind as a small fish in the big pond it wouldn’t surprise me if the PL don’t do them the same favours as the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Probably changed his mind when they let the Mags get away with it and have a nice winter break

Does no one else think it wud be bad news if we got promoted and the mags got relegated and ended up in same division ?

After the initial laughing out loud and general frivolity that would follow another mag relegation, the grim realisation would surely sink in that 1 of the 3 promotion spots was booked and more importantly, they'd be able to buy the experienced players needed to get them up, whilst we we'd still be tinkering about paying as little as possible for players who might make it.

The 9 derby match unbeaten run vs them would be under very serious threat next season if we went up and they went down imho. Is that really what we want ? Just asking.
Nah. It's a free hit. We'd go up with no expectations first season. We have a League 1 squad. They are the Richest Club in the World. I'd love it.

Burnley v Watford (Tuesday night)
Watford v Norwich (Friday night)
Everton v Villa (sat early KO)

Next 3 premiership games. Mags could be feasibly be 10 adrift off Leeds & Everton and 8 off Watford and safety by the time they play Leeds on Saturday
Burnley are asking for another postponement they can bog off
