NUFC Sportswashing 2022

The signing just looks like after Saturday they were so desperate to sign a striker before Watford game that they just looked for anyone with a release fee to get it done.

Proper Howe signing, mind. Double figure fee for a player that will do alright in the championship.

Screams to me like a club without a recruitment policy and got sold Wood after the Trippier contract meeting seeing as they share an agent 🤣.

Questionable for anyone else but brilliant for Newcastle Jesus Christ just who are they trying to convince?

Surely it’s only brilliant if Trippier and Wood link up in the same way McGeady and Wyke did last season and what’s the chances that will happen…?

A scatter gun will be fantastic for blowing away the resistance of the clubs we are battling relegation with.
And then we can move on.

Just a striker that I mentioned to my son we needed to kick start us. An old fashioned centre forward. There's not many left but we need one as it stands.
A potential masterstroke of a signing, as unconvincing it will be to many.

But like you say...we'll see.
If isay it enough it will be true, If i say it enough it will be true.....

If he is somehow instrumental in helping them stave off relegation and keeping their snout in the PL trough, then it has to be seen as a good signing.

That article is embarrassing as well. She’s going on like Trippiers crosses will automatically guarantee goals for Wood.

Trippier has got a decent cross but so have loads of players in the premier league

It's the other stuff! e.g.

"Even if Wood loses his starting place on Wilson’s return, he will be deemed money well spent if he helps Newcastle avoid the fate they suffered in 2009 and 2016.

Should the worst happen, Trippier and Wood are players who would be expected to excel in the second tier, helping help secure promotion at the first attempt, but no one at St James’ Park wants to contemplate that possibility. When, last October, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund purchased a majority 80% stake in a club co-owned with the minority shareholders Amanda Staveley and Reuben Brothers, it certainly did not envisage suffering the spectacular loss of face across the Middle East which would accompany relegation."

This is only a good deal for Newcastle because they think they are weakening one of their relegation rivals.

The gamble is that Dyche with £25m could vastly improve his squad whereas Newcastle just add to a squad of mediocre strikers.

If you believe the bollocks about their recent targets Wood is a decent signing. Obviously they’ve only got him because no kernt else will sign but they’ve probably dodged a few bullets signing him.

I’d be gutted if I was him though, signed for 8 weeks then benched if you are to believe the scum

Nah, needed a striker for 8 weeks due to Wilson being out, not many decent ones available at this time of year that clubs are willing to sell so they just went and took our main relegation rivals striker off them, genius some would say.
Or you could have just given your relegation rivals money to buy an improvement on Wood
