Playing loads of seasons and games in Europe still means something even if you don’t win anything. So someone like Lyon and Roma don’t have a good european record to speak of despite loads of european campaigns as they have never won a european trophy?

Also lots of european campaigns generate substantial revenue and increase a clubs profile which in turn lead to better league performance. That’s why we have managed several top 6 finishes in the PL whilst plenty of clubs who haven’t played in Europe haven’t managed 1.

Also why we have been able to sign a higher profile of player than you.
