Overhauled 😂 More like he overspent. If it wasn’t for Graham Carr’s signings and their resale value you wouldn’t have had a transfer budget for that season and Rafa still managed to get the plaudits for their prices, unbelievable. If you get relegated this upcoming season, how many of Rafa’s signings do you think will go for big money? My guess would be zero!

Remember when he tried to sell Xabi Alonso and replace him with Gareth Barry? Some boy!

1) why would a fanbase that has averaged over 50k for 18 of the last 20 seasons as well as arguably the best away support in the country or certainly in the top few deserve a double relegation?

2) if sunderland had the european record we have do you not think that would give you lot a higher opinion of yourselves?

I hope you stay in the lower leagues for a decade or more, with false dawns, embarrassment and heartbreak throughout, as some of your fans deserve that and more.

120 odd games says otherwise. I’m not saying it’s anything to brag about as we never won anything in Europe but I’m saying if Sunderland had all them seasons in Europe then you lot might have a higher opinion of yourselves and higher standards.
