f***ing clueless. If they are successful then playing Burnley at home etc. will have empty seats as they focus on the bigger games. If they are unsuccessful they will be back to giving tickets away.

It's mad now to see Man City not even close to selling out Champs League games. Cost? expectation? Right now I can't imagine a day I wouldn't go to see us in a European game but I guess that's the nature of the beast.

I’m warming to King and the lad from Houston. Unlike Snidey Dan and Fisherman Homer.
Don’t be fooled, horrible little creatures.

That Weshy Tory loving mag is as snide as they come and a grass, pop over the politics forum and you’ll see what he actually is.

Eighty thousand screaming Geordies every week.

Not like the mag reporters to get carried away.
I thought they had a 15 year season ticket list, I never understood how it was a wait like people can only have a season ticket for 1 year

Bit of a change from them giving away 12k season tickets, must be off signing all those players from relegated teams or villa’s bench

The mythical 90k do not all have NE postcodes (or Durham postcodes). At first you may make the effort to travel up but ultimately (if successful) you start prioritising. It’s no slight - it’s just reality. We took c55k to Wembley with vast majority of club Wembley and exec’s Sunderland. Doesn’t mean we would fill 55k each week….obviously. Well supported team and on occasion there will be excess demand but not consistently over 20+ years.

I agree. I think we are about right to be honest in terms of selling out each match moving forward. If we taste success, perhaps maybe a slight increase, but, IMO a full stadium is surly better then a 65 or 70k one only two thirds full.

Cost I would imagine. City usually have 2 or 3 Wembley trips a season, 6 or 7 European away days as well as Premier League fixtures. The cost to go to most of those would be astronomical so you would have to pick and choose which to prioritise. City don’t have the worldwide support that Utd and Liverpool have, so attendances will naturally suffer at some points. They do have a brilliant hard core support but when I went there were a fair few football tourists there

I think you're right, but 20 years ago I'm sure not one Man City fan at Maine Road would have ever imagined not going to watch their team in the Champions League, and it's amazing what a period of success can do.

I’ll put it out there - you are so not having that success!

Would love to see his maths gsce result pulling figures out the air like that, 25k screaming geordies locked outside now, must just be 300k inside the ground then

25k locked out from having to give 12k season tickets away a couple of years ago 🤣

The game I was at, the woman behind me was complaining to her neighbour about the price of the Real Madrid tickets. I did think I would give my left bollock for the chance to see Sunderland play Real Madrid in a CL semi final

It's all relative I suppose. Hearing Man Utd and Arsenal fans moan about their situation, we can't get our heads around, then we moan and others can't understand it, then there's clubs who have went out of business who would say none of us should moan.

Only CL game I have been to was City v Bayern. What an awful atmosphere. iPads everywhere- mags careful what you wish for.

Been linked with McNeil
Been linked ?? Turn it in pal. Who haven’t we been linked with. 😆

Don’t need to wish for it. We’ve already had it, so know how it works.
