NUFC and other Sportswashing 2022 - Part 3

And I get that totally.
Hypothetically what If KSA was truly trying to improve its image, and sport was part of that. It has to start somewhere!
I am part Jewish but I don’t hate every German on the planet, despite what they did to my grandad!
And whether you like it or not ‘most’ fans of all clubs would accept this investment.

As I say the reason I am on here nosing about Is my grandson is at the academy…. Not far hopefully from reserve team.

PiF's real target all along was LFC, NUFC were a back up sold to them by AS. PiF continually tested the water with LFC and the fan base and the reception was lukewarm. In comparison they received a warm welcome from NUFC as evidenced by the petition, visits to PL HQ, visits to number 10 etc. We are now in a position where random Saudi's get an invite to the Directors box, the CEO of PiF gets numerous happy birthday messages, Saudi flags all over social media, NUFC fans abusing Khassoghi's finance and calling him a terrorist not to mention the constant what about this deflection to any negativity, based on the promise of a a few signings NUFC fans have literally covered their ears and worn blinkers to purely focus on football.

I know PiF, I've worked with PiF and I am in regular contact with a senior executive at PiF. They are a fund and there will be a return. NUFC were cheap at c3 x earnings. If they grow revenue and start knocking on the door of Europe they will be worth a lot more. You will enjoy some great days out, move up the league but ultimately you will be sold on. Why else would AS borrow 30m? The owners are basking in glory at the moment but fast forward a little and they will be off social media and unable to attend the games.

Putting aside the atrocious human rights records and the attitudes to minorities I think it is bad for football for a state to own a club (and don't give me the EPL said they are separate garbage). Perhaps the UAE own City and Qatar own PSG but they are mere gnats in comparison to KSA. The only solace for the rest is you will just end up paying 100m for the next Joe Linton instead of 40m.

130 years of history sold down the river all because of the green eyed monster that are NUFC fans not been able to cope with the likes of Leicester and West Ham doing better than them.

I'd rather be in the National league than be associated with NUFC.

Good luck to your grandson. My lad is playing SAFC this week and I hope he batters them :)
Really good points and clearly you have a better knowledge!

Yeah. I watched NUFC for 52 years and won nothing, before I start pushing up daisies I want to see us win a major trophy!

That’s a myth, he saw an opportunity to make what he thought was easy money…. But was trumped by other clubs and foreign investment…. And then we stood still for 15 years, both promotions were lucky as again minimum investment.
Whatever
Ya women are dogs gadgy and his mate bankrupted you

mostly enjoyed the debate although the insults were not really welcome, however I have told you my main reason why I nosed about!
Keep an eye out for a local (ish) kid at the academy, tricky little bugger who plays left side…… although he wanted to be a CF he is being focussed on LB/LWB
He is a cheeky little b*grr as well but I am hoping next 12 months he blossoms!

Explain…. I have been open book!
No contradiction at all, you asked I answered honestly.

Ok. Let me flip it!
If they had bought Sunderland what percentage of your fan base would be accepting of these owners?

Tbh I've never had a problem with Newcastle fans continuing to support their team in spite of the owners. Your team's your team, and I can't honestly say I'd walk away from Sunderland either in those circumstances.

The other stuff, however: the petition, the campaigning, the Saudi flags on twitter, the abuse of Khasoggi's widow. The 'richest club in the world' gloating over dirty blood money. The worraboutery. The rapturous applause for MBS' henchman and sanctification of his venal PR woman. All that stuff is vile, and anybody party to any of it needs to reassess their priorities in life and how much a few trinkets bought for you by people who hold the likes of us in contempt are really worth in the scheme of things.

Good luck to your lad by the way
It is trying to improve it's image. It's not improving its behaviour, though, and that's the key distinction. A week of Trippier's wages would feed a hell of a lot of Yemeni kids, but they're not actually interested in being decent human beings, only in trying to distract people from what bastards they are. So they'll continue to bomb the kids into famine, but spend millions on mercenary footballers so the West will continue to turn a blind eye to it.
Fair comment ….. if true! I don’t think any of us really know.

Second post mate. You didn’t choose them. Next post I would have taken anyone. Next post, I wanted it to go through. You can see where this is heading. I suppose begging doesn’t quite fit but there you go.

Dear me, imagine spending your Sunday trawling through a rivals forum.

😂😂😂

2 divisions below you and you’re utterly obsessed.

Tragic marra.

This. Any sane family man/woman supporting their ownership is hypocritical to the max.
What’s your prediction for the match against the mighty Burton Albion on Tuesday?

Remember though it’s their Cup Final and the refs are shit in League Division 3 and they’ll be time wasting like fuck when they take the lead.

Ah right. Some logic I guess

Anyway it’s pub time. Keep an eye out for my grandson….he has potential

No clue. I speak for myself. Thankfully you prostrated yourselves and welcomed them with open cheeks and prevented the contemptible arseholes from contaminating anyone else. So I suppose you’ve done the rest of the world a favour.

Best of luck to the lad. Hope he makes a career of it.

How many Yemenis will die between now and Tuesday?

Despite the insults I hope my grandson makes it with Sunderland!
He loves the academy and is so keen….. fingers crossed he goes all the way.

If you want me to compare him to a SAFC player in years gone by… I think similar to Kevin Arnott…. And a little bit of Stan Cummins!

Anyway have a good day …. To those who avoided the insults lol….

What a load of bollocks

You must be logged on to see media items

It's not bollocks though. If the Mags push on and become a force while we piss around in the tinpot league then Sunderland schools will have shit loads of Mags. At my nephews school in Sunderland he was telling me the majority of kids support Liverpool and City nowadays.
