Not Roy Keane

I get involved in supporting on a matchday, trust me. I just don't think that Roy Keane returning is like the second coming of Christ. Maybe some of it is living here in Bristol, and being out of the madhouse, if you see what I mean. It's also something that's happened since my stroke - not letting things get to me as much as I can.
Aye, been mentioned in the TV media about the folk in Bristol this morning and the Thatchers boycooot

People kicking off saying that's them done now Keane has turned us down.
I will say this again, why are obsessed with big names? We are an established Div 1 side.
Teams above us and have been promoted before us don't have big names. Rotherham United have Paul Warne and Wigan have Leam Richardson. Check out their cvs
We just need someone who can get a starting 11 to gel each week.

I'm fine with this. I don't think we should look back. Anyway, I couldn't see much substance in the argument which goes, broadly, 'get Keano in. He'll sort them out'.

He'd give the fans a lift but, as we saw against Doncaster, that doesn't translate onto the pitch.

I'm less bothered about missing out Keane, more bothered about what it means for whoever we bring in. Anyone from the shortlist is going to get a hostile reception.

tbh I'd tear up the shortlist and hammer the phones of any out-of-work veteran who'd take the gig til the end of the season. Throw in a massive promotion bonus. Then do a proper international search for a talented young coach.

Highly highly doubt it but I hope we can come in with an improved offer for him.

Either way it’s an absolute shambles from the club. Don’t know what it’s come down to, I reckon length of the contract or money is most likely. The way they’ve gone about the whole search f***ing on with second interviews etc has cost us another season

If they’ve offered him 6 months with an automatic extension and pay rise if he gains promotion then that seems fair enough, they could renegotiate wages for remaining in league 1. Seems to me he wasn’t willing to back himself to get promoted.

Have you learned nothing from the appointments of the past? Grayson, Coleman, Ross, Parkinson. Hiring people who have done a job at this level does not work for Sunderland. We need a larger than life character to pull us out. Sunderland is not like any other League one club. Is it not comparable to the likes of Rotherham or f***ing Wigan. You don't know anything if you think we are.

A blind man on a galloping horse could see that this is more than just about Keane man.

The club have been shown up to be beyond absolutely useless. It’s a shambles with no direction, leadership, cohesion or clue. They’re total pretenders

As long as the new manager tries to play FOOTBALL (I.E. ball to feet and pass to our players). No hoofball please. The squad seems to have been brought in to play passing football. Let's try it.

Nobody, I don't care who they are , would have accepted that. That will not have been the deal on the table.

I'll get behind any manager coming in but sorry I need some time to get over the Keane hype first, still pissed off. Whoever it is they will need to turn team around fast, he'll be feeling the pressure alright if we continue to get beat.

I agree, totally. In these mad times, I even find myself rooting for Neil Warnock!
