Not Roy Keane

Been think about the money thing ie people saying he’d want too much money. Just can’t see it, he took number 2 job which I’m sure wouldn’t have paid much. Most revealing thing for me was what Ian Wright said about it having to be right upstairs. Owners have some mega explaining to do now, starting with who owns what of the club and who’s the one calling the shots, and most importantly what TF happens with Keane...

If everyone does that, there is no club. Is that really what you want? Whoever comes in will have my full support. That's what you do. The problem is that people have got too much emotionally invested in this; we seem to have a sentimental streak wider than the Atlantic. I've learned that getting overstressed over things I can't control is unhealthy.

I was never convinced that Keane was the right choice anyway, but I'd have accepted it if he had come in. The word is that it's now between McCann, Neil and Lamouchi. For me, Neil 1st, the Lamouchi, then McCann.
Sensible post. I would also order them the same, but Neil by some distance would be my number 1 target now.

From an actual credible journalist:

Roy Keane has turned down the chance to take over as Sunderland’s manager and make an emotional return to the club where he held the job from 2006 to 2008.

Keane, who has not worked as a manager since his sacking by Ipswich in 2011, had been Sunderland’s first choice to replace Lee Johnson.

The club, who have lost their past three games, had thought on Wednesday night that Keane was ready to take the post but he has informed them he will not be coming.

Far from convinced that Keane would have been a good appointment but this club and the people running it are an absolute disgrace. That's me done.

I'm not sure why McCann is getting such bad press here? What has he done wrong? OK, he's not Roy Keane and he's got a nose like Brucie's, but he won this league with Hull last season. He'd be an absolute hero if he repeated that performance here. It doesn't matter what style of football we play as long as we win promotion and get out of this league, surely?

Read it properly, I said DID THEY SAY he signed at 6.40 cos the deadline was 7pm

You said "Did they say what time it was done ?, did they say 6.40pm tonight by any chance.????"
Not sure why you mentioned 6:40pm?

I think that despite the large scale disappointment, people should hear the facts first. Or at least as close to the facts as possible given that keane will leak his side and the club will leak there's.
The facts are a proper football man who has an affinity for Sunderland can’t accept what he is being offered. This absolutely gives insight into those running this club.
