Northern trains

From Thornaby…
4 carriages: 10:37, 11:38
2 carriages: 12:21, 12:37

Looks like only the 8pm after the match is 4 carriages 🤦🏼‍♂️

First few trains are full time will be packed 🤢

All info from Real time trains
Oh dear don’t think I’ll bother trying the 6pm train might convince lads to have a few in the sheepfolds and get a later one

I've just read an article on the BBC website. The New Northumberland Line is being allocated additional carriages at busy times. One of the busy times mentioned is when Newcastle United are playing home fixtures.
Unbelievable Jeff
Where are they finding these additional coaches from?
Sorry can't link article, I'm sure some clever type will find it and link.

Looks like the 22:06 is the last northern servicing heading towards Teesside on Monday night.

Anyone risking it? With VAR, you might have to end up leaving the game on 75 minutes to make the train!

Said this plenty of times, but why can’t they look at events/fixtures and put extra trains on to meet demand?

A 10:30pm service surely isn’t asking too much?

Doubt this would happen down south!

Northern also sent me an email this morning asking me to rate their punctuality on their services 🫠🫠

It probably is asking too much. Not as easy as some people think.

There's 3 trains on the Ashington Line, there's like 10 trains on the Durham Line - that's the difference. Just saying.

I was referring to the overcrowding on the Durham Coast line, particularly when SAFC have a home fixture for which little has been done for many years. The main reason given being lack of rolling stock, which you yourself have mentioned.
We now have a situation whereby a new (old) line has identified a similar situation when NUFC have a home fixture and suddenly additional rolling stock appears to be available.
Where are they coming from and why were they not available previously on the coast line.
Just saying 😉

Just for clarity I'm a simple fella who has little knowledge of how railway companies function, unlike yourself.

No dig, I just probably was clear the trains on the Northumberland Line are all contained so they only need to double up the 3 trains and you've dealt with it.

Whereas the Durham Coast isn't so you might have one on the way to Sunderland but after the game it's in Carlisle or Whitby so you need a lot more.

Btw I live on the line and according to the local resident groups it was an absolute shit storm last Saturday with not only them all 2 car, half of them were cancelled. It's much of the same tbh regardless to the PR they stick out.
