1750 back home turned up with 4 carriages, so was full but was ok
12:45 pm GC out of H/pool, and the 18:15 GC back home.
No problems and plenty of comfortable seats available.

Only 4 seats left on the bus for Boro (H) so if anyone’s unsure / on the fence please get in touch as I imagine they’ll definitely go. We won’t be upgrading the bus to a bigger number so once those 4 have gone that’ll be it. Cheers

Seems I was wrong earlier, done a bit of digging and searching, seems that whilst they’re usually intended for longer journeys Northern will happily sell you an advance single between Hartlepool and Sunderland which ties you to travelling on the specific booked train, so this ticket WOULD only be valid on Northern and not GC. But AFAIK if you get a standard day single (or return) it should be routed any permitted which would be valid on both operators. I’ve posted about this on the Rail UK forums to try and get more info.

Looking at Hexham trains, very few direct. I’ve got to change at Central and get the Metro. Not had to do that for years.
