Northern trains

Appreciate it's a way off, but if anyone would like seats on a bus for Middlesbrough (H) please let me know on here or via PM. Will be leaving 08:30am Stockton, 08:40am Billingham, 16:00 return outside of Victors. Trains are running obviously but will likely be very busy with Boro fans all going the same way. Trying to get numbers together early as buses are hard to get hold of for this one. Cost will likely be <£20 return if we get 16+ which we should.

Watford home October 4th… Newcastle home to PSG the same day. 19:45KO so should be fine to make the last train back but I can imagine them being extra busy with that lot heading back from Riyadh.
Edit: just realized they kick off at 20:00, so unless they leave very early they won’t make that last train anyway.

That’ll be f***ing horrific for us that. I can imagine their delight as us playing Watford the same high 😔

From Thornaby
10:38 - 4 carriages
11:36, 12:35, 13:36 - 2 carriages

From Sunderland
17:50, 18:50 - 2 carriages
18:14 (GC) to Eaglescliffe

As per RTT

Should be too bad before the game. But the 17:50 will be packed.

When does the new timetable with more direct trains to Newcastle come in? Thought it was September?

Aye the one time I really need to be on the earlier train today as well, that will be fun.
Id jump on the GC but would have to buy another, separate ticket?

Aye but im heading up from Stockton, as its much closer for me, my return ticket to Stockton isnt going to be valid to get me to Eaglescliffe, unless im overthinking it?
It is travelling in style like, compared to Northern - enjoy fella.

Hm im not sure mate, give them a bell i find them dead helpful.

My guess would be your ticket would get you on the grand central for free till hartlepool then it would be chargeable to eaglescliffe. Knowing their staff they’ll say nowt.
Ive bought hpool-london tickets for lads whove ended up boarding at sland n theyre not arsed. Lovely people.

Can buy on board with GC too. So always a chance you’ll get a free journey. Very rarely gets checked heading north

Some firms do that if it’s a strike day I kna on the buses anyway

management run the buses but passengers don’t have to pay least that’s in my experience

Yeah, I always take cash for buy on board too as they’ve normally not got much change and they just say they’ll come back.

Total opposite of the northern gestapo fare evasion team

Right lads I can confirm northern tickets are allowed on grand central.

You can buy a gc only ticket but northern tickets work on both.

@kyle's left foot you may just have to pay for an extra stop worst case. Ill be on with my two lads.
That’s good to know.

So you can travel to Hartlepool on a northern ticket with GC?

They’ve always told me it wouldn’t be valid 🤦🏼‍♂️
