Going into this season, I was really looking forward to getting the train up to Sunderland. It would allow me to have a drink and have a stop over at Horden to visit family.I f***ing hate them, especially on a match day. When I get to horden train station and see the walk way canny full my heart sinks I know I’m either not getting on the next train or it’s gonna be an uncomfortable 20 min ride squashed up against someone. Funny thing is I can guarantee half the train don’t pay especially those that get on at horden and seaham.
Same applies to the Manchester Sunderland supporters branch then?Im sure theres a bus goes from hpool to home games. Sad bastards.

It’s crazy in 2026. This is why people are voting for extreme parties because very simple and easy things like an adequate train service appear to beyond help.I f***ing hate them, especially on a match day. Grand central is the best option from hartlepoolI had thought about getting the train from Hartlepool to save driving on the A19 when I moved last year. Done it once, what a chew on.

I've duffed GC, because of their unreliability.Their reliability isn’t great mind. Several times they’ve cancelled trains at short notice
I've given up on them getting up from York, hopelessly unreliable.I've duffed GC, because of their unreliability.
I now get the 10:08 train from H/pool, which goes direct to Sunderland.
Midlands Powerhouse. North of England my arse. We are second class citizens to the powers that be.Just like the Doomsday Book covering up to York , we are treated as being a wilderness. The largest conurbation without a continuous motorway system which has left us nearly 70 years behind the rest of England.Great news for us all hat he government are investing in Northern Rail…
The Northern Powerhouse rail billYou must be logged on to see external linksin major improvements to rail services between key cities in the north of England.
It will be carried out in three stages. Firstly there will be electrification and other improvements on routes between Leeds and Bradford, as well as Sheffield and York.
Then, there will be a new high-speed route between Liverpool and Manchester via Warrington and Manchester Airport.
Thirdly, the government is promising better cross-Pennine links, over and above the improvements that are already under way.
Neglected again! Beyond a joke
We will still be riding the same 2 coach 40 year old trains when they’re 60 year old. Absolute disgraceGreat news for us all hat he government are investing in Northern Rail…

Seems to me that there are no incentives or penalties by the government for what is a terrible service. We will still be riding the same 2 coach 40 year old trains when they’re 60 year old. Absolute disgrace
The government runs the service, that’s why !Seems to me that there are no incentives or penalties by the government for what is a terrible service.
Oh dear, good luck.
