Because the percentage looks ok given the circumstances (for next year). But I am not going to be swayed on a pay deal with a £600 lump on my Xmas pay
that doesn't make any sense. you're happy with the %s but will cut your nose off to spite your face because of the £1k additional offer.

so if the 1k was left off, you'd have been less offended?

Getting a pay rise that's slightly above inflation and a £1000 lumper is a good deal when the company is is serious bother. The arguments about the lumper happen everytime though.

A lumper is and always has been an add on during Pay Negs when there is no more movement on the % rise
Hasn’t always been on pay deal, certainly not in the 90s. Only became part of it in the last 15 year. How do you know there’s no movement on % only way to find out is to vote NO

No risk to yous voting no. If it delays the thing going through, you'll get it backdated when it does. Bear in mind the minimum wage is going up almost 7% in April, whereas they're offering you 3.5%*.

*dunno how much you are on to factor in how much % the lump sum is worth to you, but would expect very little. It seems like a carrot for people hard of summing.

I did not say it was on every pay deal.I said when there is no movement on the % as was said in the Co Co surgeries by the reps

If the percentage is ok then whats lumper got to do with voting no
Because it’s an incentive to sway people into voting yes. But not a good enough incentive. I said the percentage looks ok given the circumstances, but is a tad above inflation at best. I just never trust the pay negs. I bet the usual post pay negs announcement will happen in the next 6 months and then people will think back to what they voted.

As I’ve already said to someone else…

And no if the 1k was left off you’d have nobody voting yes, only reason they do it is for people skint at Xmas. They could offer £500 and people would still probably vote yes

If the company is on the brink as reported and potentially has 12months left why are they offering a 2 yearly pay deal? Surely it would make sense to say we will take it year by year

60/70% yes. It’s the grand lumper that will push it through although probably more like £600 after tax and NI. No from me but I still think it will go through.
Your mental if expect more than that it’s 7 million quid people expecting 3k that’s costing the company over 20 million then they are asking government and people for investment ??? How do you think that will look?? Loads of the little scrotes are kicking off voting no absolutly thick as mince any other job in the world your would be chuffed with a 1k Xmas bonus esp given the circumstances

Turn the lumper into a % and have it added to salary, but trying to get that through to some is like banging your head against a brick wall.
You aren’t going to get more than that % wise even when we making record figures of cars we only got inflation and a bit
The whole procedure is ridiculous ! having a bunch of berks who don’t give a shit if the company goes under as their wages are low they can walk into another similar paid job easily , voting for an acceptable pay rise I mean what could possibly go wrong

What is a good enough incentive then? bare in mind £1,000 costs 6 million+ and company are struggling with free cash flow

Be f***ing hilarious if they take the 1k lumper off and put extra 1% or .5% the broth heeds who wanted more will be furious they have lost the grand
