Newcastle Manager Situation

He is the best manager they could have got imo.

People who are are saying shite etc are idiots
It's wum and reserve squad posters saying that. He's clearly not shite but he's not as good as people make out.

And a long time ago. He's done absolutely nothing of note in 10 years, despite managing some massively high-profile clubs with unlimited resources.
This, his last 3 jobs actual appointments have been a failure.

Didn't Rafa spend 8m on Dossena!!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Not forgetting Aquilani @ £17.1m.

His transfer history (59 players signed) whilst at Liverpool reads like an account of a train wreck, albeit one that had the odd Pullman carriage that was linked with the dross.

If I was MA would I give RB a free rein on transfer business?

No chance!!

Amazing coup for them and shows the way some still perceive the Toon as some sort of big clerb with 52000 and Champions league pedigree.

Seen some silly comments on this thread saying you lot wouldn't take him as manager :lol: how many Champions league winning managers have managed SAFC? And someone saying Fat Sam is a better boss :lol: The nearest he came to winning anything he was beaten by... Tufty himself!

As you can see no I'm not a mag but it doesn't take one to realise that this is an outstanding appointment.

As I said earlier, Howard Wilkinson had won the league title more recently when he took over here, than any of Benitez' achievements. He hasn't won the CL or a domestic league in over a decade, despite managing filthy rich clubs with fantastic squads. His last 3 jobs have been abject failures; barring winning the Europa League with the CL holders, he's taken all of his last 3 clubs backwards, and he did the same at Liverpool in his last season there.

He has had some brilliant success, but the fact he's going from Real Madrid to Newcastle tells you what a spectacular fall in reputation he's suffered. The fact he ever got the Real gig was an astonishing anomaly in the 1st place, and is only because he is a Real Madrid fan and came through their system - had he been Jo Smith from Consett he'd never have got anywhere near that job given his recent employment history.

1/10 desperate

Are we falling over ourselves to praise him and condemn ourselves to relegation yet, I'm guessing that's the case so won't read the threads. I will call those doing it spineless though, and the mags who are doubtless predicting further glories, I'll just call them wankers.

I've spoken.

He won cups at both Napoli and Chelsea. Having said that im not sure he's the right appointment at this time.
Agreed, but winning a cup competition isn't anything like fighting a relegation battle. Cups are about knockout football, shock wins, ignoring form.......oh hang on!

Nah, he can't polish that turd, roll it in glitter maybe buts its still a turd.

Amazing Coup? He's not taking them over to win the CL, he's taking them into the kind of dogfight he's never experienced before. Outstanding appointment? Time will tell, but it looks like a big name appeasement to me.

Anyrode, shouldn't you be prepping for the start of your end of season collapse.....................oh you've already started. Hull next week will shove you that wee bit further down into your rightful place hopefully.
